DeeJay Booth: Oak Grove High School, Class of 2020; 6-foot, 197-pound solid frame; OF/LHP. During batting practice, the left-handed hitter showed power in the box with an exit velocity of 90 mph. Started in open stance with a quick load, then used a toe tap right before his swing. Showed rapid bat speed and a straight-to-the-ball swing plane. Path creates a drive the ball approach. From the outfield, he made throws to the infield at velocities up to 87 mph;showed a twitchy exchange and quick footwork. Movements laterally were athletic. Had a high ¾ slot and a short arm action. He showed his athleticism during the event with a sub-seven 60 time of 6.85. On the mound, his fastball was clocked at 82-83 mph. He threw his curveball with consistency at 66-69 mph.

Very strong and athletic build with quick feet and plenty of quick twitch.  He ran a 6.7 in the 60 and then threw 87 mph from the outfield.  Batting his strength was on display showing power to the pull side and the ability to stay on the ball and drive it the other way. Exit velo was 90 off the T.  on the mound his fastball was up to 83 and the breaking ball averaged 69 mph

10/15/17 Lean, athletic 6-foot-0, 175-pound frame with room for continued growth and strength. Showed athleticism running a 6.9 60-yard dash. The left-handed hitter has a very open, balanced setup with big rhythm in hands. Leg lift load working closed with quick, choppy rhythm and a short stride. Good lower half transfer, rotational swing, quick hands, line drive power and solid bat speed for age recorded an 88 mph exit velocity. In the outfield, he plays through the ball with average hands, clean exchange, throwing from a short, high-¾ arm stroke and solid carry at 81 mph. On the mound, the left-handed pitcher throws from short, high-¾ arm stroke, with quick rhythm and regular effort. Level shoulders, landing tall, with recoil in finish. Fastball sat 76-79 mph with slight arm side run and developing command. Breaking ball was thrown with near fastball arm speed at 63 mph showing 2/7 shape and solid depth.
