Stands at 6-foot-4, 175 pounds, jumped out at the State Games of North Carolina and followed it up with a good performance at the Dirty 30 in Durham, prior to committing to East Carolina. He ran a 6.75 60 on a damp track and a 6.64 on a firm one. He’s athletic in the box with a quick stroke that stays level and produces a lot of line drives. He has shown good barrel awareness against advanced arms and stays gap to gap. Jayne tracks balls well in the outfield. His arm has some stiffness in it, but there is carry and feel for accuracy to his throws.
