USA CNT: Physically resembling Johnny Cueto at 5-foot-11 and 210 pounds, the 2023 draft-eligible junior impressed during his start at the trials with a high-spin fastball up to 95 mph and 2600 rpm spin rate. His quick-spin (2800 rpm) breaker flashed average at 81-83 and he subtracted spin with a 1900 rpm changeup. Meachem also added a scoreless inning of work against Taipei before his selection in the 10th round of the draft by the Marlins. At this point he looked to be more of a thrower than a pitcher, and would benefit by riding his heater over bats while spinning his breaker under them, but he has all of the ingredients to clean it up and develop into a starter at the pro level.
