8/18/20

6-foot, 175-pound right-handed hitting catcher and right-handed pitcher. He ran a 7.66 sixty at the event. The skill set behind the dish is solid, throwing 79 mph with a pop time of 1.9 as he shows good arm strength. The receiving is solid and he displayed athletic feet. The bat has an exit velocity of 90 mph. The setup is wide to start and he gains minimal ground as the ball approaches the hitting zone. The path is uphill to contact, the hands generate good bat speed through contact. On the mound, the fastball sat 82-83 mph with arm side action to the fastball. The spin pitch was a good looking slider at 75-76 mph. The pitch should be an out pitch at the next level. The changeup was a knuckle ball at 72-73 mph. The delivery is online with the feet and the slot is above 3/4 in height. The lift is solid in tempo and repeated. The tracking of the front shoulder can stay online longer to aid in extension to the plate. The finish has recoil to it and he has minimal head movement. The arm is quick and clean.

5-foot-11, 165-pound right-handed hitting catcher and pitcher. Defensively, threw 69 mph from behind the dish. Pop time of 2.03 as the feet work quickly and his path is simple. The receiving is coming along nicely, securing the catch and blocking all need to continue to improve. Ran a 5.12 down the line on his dig to first base, as that will have to improve. Tee exit velocity of 73 mph. The set up is wide, front foot open to start. The front foot closes down as he uses a pick up and put down of the front foot as the ball approaches. The bat path is long, needs to be shortened down as he matures and gets stronger. On the mound, the fastball touched 73 mph. The breaking ball is 64 mph, as it needs more fastball hand speed. The knuckle ball has good rotation, sits at 63-64 mph. The delivery is online and the slot is slightly above ¾. The arm works well. The direction to the plate needs tweaking as he opens up the front foot and hip to soon prior to foot strike. Needs to stay closed with the front part of his body to protect his arm.
