Anthony Dombrowski, 3B/OF, Don Bosco, 2016
9/19/15 – Dombrowski is a very good athlete and he showed extremely well at this event. He improve greatly upon his 60-yard dash time as he ran a lightning quick 6.72 which looked like it should have been faster. He likes to get his foot down early in his swing mechanics which works for him because he can rely on his hands to work. He produces solid exit velocities with a largely handsy approach. He has strong wrists and can hit line drives all over the field. Defensively, Dombrowski can do everything. He moves efficiently in the outfield showing the ability to track most fly balls. He plays an instinctual third base and has good fundamentals. He gets rid of the ball quickly and can make most plays on the field. He has the ability to play multiple positions and could profile at 3B, 2B, or the OF at the next level. Somebody is going to be very happy landing this dynamic athlete.
7/16/15 – Dombrowski is a super-utility of types, showing the ability to play the hot corner, second base, as well as the outfield. He possesses an athletic 5-foot-11 build and plays the game athletically as well. Defensively he showed a very athletic version of a fundamental approach to fielding a ground ball. He kept behind the ball well, broke his hands near his mid-section and worked through his throw to deliver strikes to first base at 78 miles-per-hour. Offensively, I love his run tool. He ran a 6.86 and plays the game faster than that. He hits from a tall, even stance and has a small, early stride. He has a back load and arm bars some but has a nice swing path and bat speed. He uses all fields and has a feel for controlling the stick.
