Alvarez has a strong, athletic build at 5-foot-10, 182-pounds. Ran the 60 yard dash in 7.79 seconds. Recorded an exit velo of 90 MPH. At the plate, he starts in an even and balanced stance with his knees bent. Hands begin just above shoulder height. Small leg kick. Brings his elbow to become parallel with the ground. Moves his hands down and back with a slight bat wrap. Short, compact swing, hit line drives to all fields. Defensively, took reps in the outfield and infield. In the outfield, fields the ball in a low and athletic position while not breaking stride. Recorded a positional velo of 76 MPH. In the infield, Alvarez worked smoothly to the ball. Made his transfer below midsection height. Showed a short, efficient arm action when making throws.
