Cape Cod- After a strong freshman year, Serretti got off to a slow start in the pandemic-shortened 2020 campaign and then had an up-and-down spring in 2021, hitting .249/.332/.488 with nine homers and 18 doubles. He was one of Chatham's top performers this summer, hitting .282 with two homers and four doubles in 85 ABs, and he looks primed for a big 2022 season at UNC. A shortstop for the Tar Heels, Serretti mostly played second base for Chatham and handled the position adroitly, showing excellent instincts, body control, and actions, along with the ability to turn a slick double play. Many scouts think he profiles well at second, but he can also hold his own at short, giving him some utility value. A switch-hitter, Serretti showed some opposite-field pop from the left side with a homer to left field at Chatham, and he got better from the left side as the summer progressed. He has some sneaky strength in his line-drive-oriented stroke, and he's a solid runner as well. Serretti entered the spring regarded as a potential top-six-rounds prospect, and he could still play his way into that range with a strong showing next spring.

2018 INF Danny Serretti (Governor Livingston HS, NJ) stroked a single in his only at bat of the day for the Tri-State Arsenal Select.  The St. John’s commit has shown good balance from both sides of the plate throughout the tournament, and has an athletic bounce in the field with good hands.


10/18/15 -- Serretti proved yet again to be one of the best defenders at the event. The foot work, arm action, and glove skills are all above average and he makes the game look easy. His day at the plate was full of fly outs and pop ups with unrecordable home-to-first times but his day was relinquished in his last at-bat when he juiced out a two-run homerun to RF from the left side. The swing hitting prospect has a smooth, repeatable stroke from both sides of the plate. The triple and homerun we have seen in two consecutive events will be occur more often once he adds strength to his long, loose frame.

9/20/15 -- Serretti has long, lean features and a projectable body. Switch hitter with similar tall stances and knee-to-knee bottom half into his stride. He has a smooth, easy stroke from both sides with bat speed; slightly uphill from the left side. Started the second session's game off with a triple to the LCF gap. Defensively, he has clean and easy actions. He has a repeatable hand break and moves through his throws well. He has potential for big time arm strength. He has excellent body control and projects to be a highest level player, especially if he can increase foot speed. He pitches with rhythm and a smooth, easy delivery and a fast arm from a 3/4 arm slot. His velocity was 75-79 and his breaking ball had spin potential at 62-64 MPH.
