Physical: 6-foot-3, 185 pounds; Long, athletic build. 7.69 runner in the 60.
Offensively: RHH. Even setup, with feet wide spread; bat positioned at a 45 degree angle. Loads straight back with an up and down stride for timing. Stays behind the ball while showing an average effort from the legs. Showed a slight lift to the ball with a one-handed finish. More flyballs than line drives and groundballs with a peak exit velocity of 90 MPH via Trackman.
Defensively: Starts with an upright /tall setup; walks into ready position while sits back. Hands are out in front with a delay in transfer. Short take back from a low 3/4 arm slot.
Pitching: Alfonso uses a center rubber setup working primarily from the stretch. Minimal leg lift with shoulders above the hips. Has a moderate stride landing inline with the plate. Moderate arm swing while arm stays in line with 2B, while working through a low 3/4 slot. Spins off 1B side with finish. FB: Peak velo of 75 MPH, while sitting 73-74 MPH; commands both sides. CB: 64-65 MPH; late action. SL: 67-68 MPH; short action. CH: 63-64 MPH; fading action.
