9/19/15 – Smith is a very physical first base prospect which legitimate raw power (93 MPH exit velocity off of the tee). His swing is a bit long which is typical of some guys who have the ability to hit the ball out. He has leverage in his swing and his high extended finish plays into the fact that he has pull side power. He has a clue for how to stay off breaking balls and hunt fastballs. He moves extremely well around the bag at first base for his size. He picks balls nicely and has a feel for using the glove.

7/16/15 – Jordyn is a physical right-handed first baseman who stands 6-foot-3, 215 pounds. The strong, athletic 1B had a good day, particularly with the stick. He ran a 7.30 in the 60-yard dash and he showed a 91 mile-per-hour exit velocity off of the tee. In batting practice, Smith hit from an open and tall stance and a longer stride. He had a smooth, rhythmic load and swung with strength and aggression. He has an explosive lower half which allowed his hips to clear and create some pull side pop. He showed solid extension and a smooth stroke. Defensively, he moved well around the bag and showed the ability to make athletic picks on balls in the dirt. He also showed some carry on his throws from a short arm action.
