March 1st, 2018
Scalabrini has a lanky-athletic build at 6-foot-3 175-pounds with a high ceiling and some projection. Fastball topped at 85 MPH and sat mostly 82-85 MPH throughout his outing of work. Flashed a sharp 11/5 breaking ball at 72-75 – one of the sharpest breaking balls from the event. Also showed feel for a changeup at 78-80 MPH with some late fade. Tall, fall type pitcher going down the mound. Level shoulders as he descends, creates some torque in his mid section to create some added velocity. High-3/4 slot with a quick arm action. Highly projectable arm. Definite follow for the spring and summer seasons.

Preseason All-State Showcase (February 11, 2016)
Scalabrini has a skinny, lanky build at 6-foot-2 166-pounds. Ran a 7.47 60 yard dash. Offensively- starts with a neutral stance with feet set up slightly wider than shoulder width with hands above shoulder and the bat parallel with the ground. Swing is started by a leg lift and stride. Hand load is minimal, but they load down slightly and back. Level bat path through the zone, balanced finish. Creates some bat speed on swing. Exit Velocity topped at 76 mph. Defensively- throws from 3B topped at 73 mph with arm side run. Occasionally will drop slot causing ball to run up the first base line. Pitching- Fastball topped at 80 mph, sat mostly 78-79 mph. Flashed a true 12/6 breaking ball at 64-65 and a changeup with some arm side run at 62-63. Arm works quick, shows some looseness in arm action. Collapses over front landing leg. Can benefit from shortening stride in order to utilize leg strength more in delivery. High-3/4 slot, breaking ball was one of the best offspeed pitches showcased at the event. Needs to keep developing overall strength to fill out frame. Projectable frame at the next level.

Underclass Games (September 18, 2016)

Scalabrini has a skinny, lanky build at 6-foot-2 156-pounds. FB sat 82-83 with some run, curveball was 69-71. At its best, CB is a true 12/6 breaker, very sharp. Needs to be more consistent with release point and mechanics. High ceiling prospect, needs to get stronger and repeat better. Mechanics are up tempo to start, long leg swing causes him to occasionally get off balance. Arm action is short and quick, needs to get stability with landing leg. Stride is perfect for size, just has trouble truly finishing over that leg - finishes pitch hunched over almost in a lunge type stance or with momentum going backwards.
Offensively- starts with a narrow, slightly opened stance. Uses a small leg kick to start swing. Hand load is a bit choppy, but hips and hands clear zone well for smooth looking finish.
