Left-handed hitter who starts in a unique stance, feet are wide and extremely open. Hand also begin low and move directly backwards in his load. Closes up his stance with a drifting load. Extension in his hand, creates contact out front. Showed off some quiet hands behind the plate. Smooth receiver, moves down to up. Transfers away from his body. Consistently accurate throws. Pop times ranged from 2.08-2.26 seconds, with a top throwing velocity of 73 MPH.
Novakowski stands at 5-foot-11, 180-pounds. Possesses a real strong and athletic frame. Ran the 60 yard dash in 6.98 seconds and recorded an exit velo of 97 MPH, one of the tops at the event. Has an athletic and open stance with his weight preshifted onto his backside. Hands begin by his head and move down and back. Hanging leg kick, stays on time. Present barrel awareness. Hands work efficiently through the zone. Impressive BP displaying some clear gap-to-gap power. Behind the plate recorded a top velo of 73 MPH on throws and pop times ranging from 2.07-2.14 seconds. Loads through a big leg kick and shoots the hands back past his ear. Bars out the front arm and shoots the hands through the zone. Swings uphill due to the front arm bar and lifts the ball nicely to all parts of th field, registered a 91 MPH max exit velo. Behind the dish, Novakowski sits low in the crouch and receives softly with good control of the zone. Comes out of the crouch quickly with good direction and works a quick exchange to post a 1.89-2.06 pop time. Throws from a high 3/4 catcher's slot and put up a 74 MPH arm strength from the crouch.
