8/18/19

Recent UNLV commit 6-foot 170. Stone has an athletic build with a medium frame and present strength. He is a solid runner and better underway, seen stretching a hit to a triple. His strength and bat speed can be seen in his 91 MPH exit velocity.  Stone had two of the better rounds on the day as he displayed a mostly pull side approach. He has a classic lefthanded swing, very balanced and made consistent contact. He recorded 2 hits during the in-game, tripling off a 91 MPH fastball. Stone has playable arm strength with solid carry.  He made good reads off the bat, funneling the ball. He showed solid footwork and clean exchanges. Likely an offensive second baseman with some low-end value in multiple position utility, but his bat will find a position.

Fall '18 - Evenly proportioned, 6-foot, 170, Stone has solid infield actions.  He likes to employ a shuffle to add carry across the diamond. Footwork and pure arm strength may lend better to second base but strength gains may provide the ability to stay at shortstop. Stone could easily add depth to program in need of a developing player at all three infield positions.  He is a leftahanded hitter that showed patience at the plate.
