Body: 5-foot-10, 175 pounds. Developed, athletic build. Athleticism shines throughout his game. Present strength in his lower half. Has twitch.
Defense: OF. Aggressive routes to the ball. Efficient exchanges. Gets the ball out quickly (converted Catcher). Quality footwork gets him around the ball and in line with target. Corner OF type with present size and speed.
Arm: RH. 80 mph. Quick arm. Accurate with some carry.
Hit: RHH. Tall, slightly opened set up. Medium leg kick. Steep hand path into the zone. Rotational type swing. Works when he is on time. Flashes some present power to the pull side. Lives mostly middle/pull. Can drive the ball to both gaps.

Lean, 5-foot-10 155, Yatson has an athletic build and room for weight and strength gains. He is twitchy, running an event best 6.64 60-yard time. He is a reliable catcher as well as an outfielder but his speed and arm action will be better suited to the outfield. He throws from a ¾ arm slot with arm side run from behind the plate and a quick release. From the outfield, he tends to get on top of the ball a bit better providing truer carry. At the plate, Yatson maintains balance throughout his swing with good barrel release. His wiry strength and bat speed provide gap type power and create an opportunity to get to his speed.
2/10/19 - Lanky, 5-foot-10, 155, Yatson has an evenly proportioned frame and shows some wiry strength. He ran well, posting a 6.71 60-time. He showed athleticism throwing from the outfield in spite of being a primary catcher. He has capable outfield actions as well as the athleticism and speed to potentially play all three spots. He throws from lower ¾ slot which hinders carry from the outfield, but he has the arm strength with work and development for the outfield. An effort to get consistently on top of the ball will lend better and allow current strength of arm to play up. His speed and arm strength accompanied by the length to his arm swing may lend better to an outfield position but keep an eye on this athlete.
Yatson is a capable receiver with developing blocking instincts. He maintains a quick exchange rolling through his release much like a middle infielder turning a double play, posting 1.94-2.03 pop times. He throws from a lower slot, lending to strained carry and occasional sink. As a hitter, Yatson has whip in his barrel and looks to pull. There is a manageable length to his swing as he loads to a lower hand position, striding open and spinning on his front heel. He has feel for the barrel with a slightly uphill plane. His speed and arm strength accompanied by the length to his arm swing may lend better to an outfield position, but keep on eye on this athlete for with time and work he could become a solid backstop.
