July 31, 2018 - St. Bonaventure
Slightly open stance at the plate, strides slightly closed on the pitch, hands high, aggressive in the box, barrel path is direct and slightly uphill, power to all fields, full finish with 86 mph exit velo. 3B stays behind the ball, gets the ball out of his glove quick, ¾ slot from a short arm-action. Pitching – Starts from the stretch, quick pace to his delivery, arm-action is deep in the back, over-the-top-slot, fastball sitting 76-78 mph with heavy life, CB was 68-71 with 12/6 shape. CH 72-75 with downward fade.

June 25-27, 2018 (NYS Games)

60 Yard Dash:
7.37
Exit Velocity:
81
Positional Arm:
74
Stocky build at 5-foot-11, 200-pounds. Simple actions when fielding, mechanically sound, quick release with accuracy to the bag . In he box, he's balanced, shows strong hands and forearms, lift in his swing plane. Hands get through the zone quickly.
WNY All-Star Games (September 24, 2017)
Riter has a strong, physical frame at 5-foot-11 197 pounds. Offensively- Even stance; hands work back off shoulder with a quiet stride forward; stays over back side with aggressive lower half rotation. Compact stroke with balance, showed some late acceleration/drive through the ball. Line drive/flyball results with some juice to his pull side. Exit velocity of 84 MPH equals previous best. Defensively- Active pre-pitch bounce that allows for efficient first step. Methodical approach to the ball, hands get out in front and is quick with transfer. Tends to get rid of the ball minus shuffle steps that would allow for his momentum to carry through the ball. Arm strength suffered from this and as only 71 MPH today. Pitching-  Controlled and deliberate  early on with delivery; starts angled towards the 3B line using a small side step to drive up to mid chest. Arm action is extended working through a high 3/4 arm slot; occasional close off with landing but stays closed with front foot angle pitch-to-pitch. Srong front side with a loose arm finish despite some recoil. FB sat lower then the past at 72-74 MPH with some heaviness to it. CB some early rolling action at 63-64 MPH but did have a few tighten up for him. Mixed a change up in that was a bit firm at 69-71 MPH.
Campus Series-Cansius (July 5, 2017)
Riter stands in at 5-foot-11, 215-pounds with a strong, thick, athletic frame. Ran a 4.93 home to first, just shy of his mark posted a year ago of 4.57 in July 2016. Offensively- Righty sets up square to the pitcher in a wide stance with his feet just outside shoulder width. Shows a slight knee bend with an upright torso holding the bat above the back shoulder. On pitch, his trigger is a knee raise into a stride forward while his hands move back slightly to get into his hitting position. Utilizes good lower body rotation clearing his hips getting his whole body involved in the swing. Shows quick hands into the hitting zone with an upward lift barrel action throughout into a high two-handed finish. Demonstrated good plate coverage with the ability to drive the ball up the middle and to the pull side. Recorded an exit velocity of 84 MPH, up 3 MPH of his recorded 81 MPH in July 2016. Defensively- Good approach and footwork to the baseball. Fields the ball well getting it into his chest. Tends to double tap the ball before getting it to the throwing position. A smoother transition would be beneficial for a quicker throw. Moves well left/right and in on the run getting to the baseball. Recorded a positional arm velocity of 80 MPH, up 8 MPH since July 2016. Pitching- Sets up in the middle of the rubber with a simple side step and a high leg raise above the hip crease. Breaks down well with good separation into a high ¾ release point. Consistent with his mechanics and gets whole body involved in the pitching delivery. Consistent throwing strikes in the zone with clean mechanics. Fastball range was 77-78 MPH and peaked at 78 MPH with good arm side run. Change-Up was 71-72 MPH and needs more development to create a larger speed difference off the fastball. Curveball was 64-68 MPH with 12/6 action that featured a tight break. Overall a strong potential collegiate prospect in the talented 2019 grad class.
WNY Prospect Preview (July 5, 2016)
Adam stands at 5-foot 10, 178 pounds, as a RHP/3B. Running a 4.57 home to 1B. This is a little slower than his previous time of 4.51. Offensively- Adam starts in an open stance with feet about shoulder width apart and his hands shoulder height. His bat starts pointed almost straight back; strides to even with minimal load. Adam is able to drive his lower half and gets  hip rotation to explode to the ball; hands fall into in a nice slot and is able to extend through the ball creating an exit velocity of 81 MPH. He produced line drives/ground balls.. Defensively- Adam gets his feet shoulder width apart but he could improve with a more athletic stance. He approaches the ball nicely and is able to field it with his hands out in front of him. Adam is very smooth transferring the ball from glove to throwing hand and puts himself in a great position to throw; arm strength at 72 MPH. Pitching- On the mound, Adam starts with wide base, on the left-middle part of the rubber. Coming up with a high leg kick, he has a very small hitch in his delivery. Does a nice job of reaching out, getting his chest over his shoulder. Displayed a FB of 75-76 MPH; needs to improve command. Appeared to favor his curveball (64-65 MPH) with 1-to-7; early action.
WNY Pro Holiday Clinic (December 19, 2015)

Stands 5-foot-10 178 pounds with a strong athletic build. The physical 2019 dual guy showed some promising tools at the Holiday Clinic.  Offensively- At the plate he sets up with his feet close and slightly open and strides in upon load.  Hands remain close to the head before launch which causes the bat to come in and out of the zone a little quick.  With a few mechanical adjustments this freshman will see some huge gains in power at the plate. Defensively- In the field he looks to be a strong corner guy.  He fields everything to the center of his body and showed off a + arm.  Pitching- He uses a simple side-step, hands chest high, drives had off his back leg, hands separate a little late. Shoulders have some uphill tilt, uses a long stride showing above average hip separation. Arm action is back and long with a release from a high-3/4 slot. Finishes over his front side showing good arm-side extension.
