New York Games (June 27-29)
Stands 5-foot-10, 175-pounds with a short but strong frame. The dual guy has shown good numbers with a  7.01 60. Offensively- At the plate sets up with a balanced base, uses a simple load. Bat path is direct and compact with a 2 hand finish.Exit velocity was an impressive 91 MPH.  Defensively- In the outfield shows good speed and ability to run down a ball. Peak arm strength at 90 MPH. Pitching- FB is pretty consistent 78-80 MPH (sitting 75-76 MPH at NY Games) and has been seen recently anywhere from 80-83mph. Has a good feel for both off speed pitches and potential to gain velocity in the near future. Starts with a slow balanced approach down hill. Occasionally cuts himself off, limiting velocity and location but overall a solid athletic prospect for the next level. Depending on college program has a chance to be a dual guy.
Preseason All-State (February 28, 2016)
Wanat stands 5-foot-10, 175-pounds with a premium athletic build. A dual player that ran a 7.06 60-yard dash, and a 4.22 down the line showing off his athleticism. Offensively- Alex sets up with a wide base and uses a small up down leg kick with a shoulder level hand load.  The swing is a little stiff at times which is holding him back a bit but with some work his athletic ability should take over and get even more pop out of the bat. Still pretty compact and strong with some power projection. Exit velocity is up to 84-mph.  Defensively- Sets up behind the ball nicely and works through the ball throwing from a high-3/4 slot with carry.  Has flashed outfield arm velocity as high as 90-mph as of late.  The athletic ability and natural hand speed should translate to some serious upside on the mound as well. Pitching  - flashed a few 81 mph fastballs in February - since has touched 83, still getting a better feel on the mound, delivery is bit choppy needing more fluid actions. Change-up and curveball both show signs of projection, fun athletic player to follow.
Buckeye Elite Showcase-Ohio (July 18, 2015)
5-foot-10, 167-pound athletic, thinner body frame, with room to fill out with. From third base, he approaches ground balls aggressively and plays through the baseball. He fields the ball with his hands out in front of his body.
