7/21/20

Physical: Athletic / projectable 6-foot, 175-pound frame with feel for his body. 7.10 runner in the 60-yard dash. Toledo commit.

Offensively: LHH. Balanced, even stance with a slight bend in the knees as the hands start with loose wiggle over the plate. Utilized a launch from the shoulder coupled with a lift and replace stride to initiate a flat barrel path into the hitting zone, showed lift after contact with ability to get to extension easily after impact. Demonstrated some juice to the RCF gap during batting practice, quick bat and translated a solid BP round over to game action with a multitude of hits, delivers the top hand with authority and used an adjustable lower half to match plane early and often in the box. Recorded a peak bat exit velocity of 98 mph according to Trackman Baseball and there’s room for more, 333 feet maximum batted ball distance / 62 % hard hit percentage.

Defensively: The primary shortstop showed off solid lateral movements with a medium-low center of gravity, fluidity through the fielding window fielding off of the left side on the approach, hands are above average with advanced feel for transfers / catch and throw skills. Good pace from the left side of the infield with a quality arm, high ¾ slot with a quick and moderate arm circle. INF - 83 mph

2/17/20

Physical: 6-foot-0, 173-pounds. Lean; athletic frame.
Run: 7.03 runner in the 60.
Hit: LHH. Slightly open; bat tends to stay wrapped around his head causing top spin line drives/ground balls; slight leg kick Top spin and coming around the ball; all to pull side; high one-handed finish.
Power: 86 MPH raw exit velocity. Consistent to the pull side; low ground balls; potential pop .
Defense: Very fluid and active feet; smooth actions approaching a ball; able to play on the run; smooth laterally; does a good job working around the ball.
Arm: Short arm swing; low 3/4 arm slot. INF - 81 MPH.

2/18/19

A lean 6-foot-0, 165 pounds. Ran a 7.27 60 yard dash. Offensively- Stands in the box with a tall stance with loose hands already set up in the load position. Short stride to the pitcher, natural bat whip through the zone. Displayed hard consistent contact during the hitting portion. The left handed hitter has power potential for the next level. Exit velocity was 87 MPH. Defensively- Active footwork and smooth actions. Gets in a good position when fielding the ball. Strong accurate arm across the diamond. Quick release from a ¾ arm slot. Top velocity across the infield was 81 MPH. The 2021 has a projectable frame and actions to be a special player. Projected as a SS at the next level.

7/10/18

At 5 feet 11 inches, Fry has an athletic build. He has soft hands in the field and a good glove to hand transition to get the ball out quickly. He shows good footwork to get his body behind the ball and following his throws. From the left side of the plate, he has a long swing and gets good barrel action with the ball to drive to all sides of the field.

2/19/18

Fry stands 5-foot-11, 150-pounds from a lean athletic build. At the plate relaxed approach, back elbow high, relaxed. Hands load back, front knee loads back towards inner knee for timing, hands power inside the ball, Barrel path is mostly level with full extension, 82 mph exit velocity off a tee with signs of more strength to come as he physically matures. Defensively, active lower half, gets to the ball with a wide stance, fields with glove out in front, quick funnel transfer is clean from a mid 3/4 slot, 78 mph arm strength across the diamond, very nice looking middle infielder from WNY.
