May 2018
6-foot-0 athletic middle infielder and starter; On the mound he shows clean arm action out of ¾ slot, late-run on his fastball induces weak contact, induces weak contact with second breaking pitch that he uses to get outs, can work both sides of the plate and effectively changes eye level, demonstrates positive hip tilt at the balance point; Offensively - impressive ability to blend hitting for average with power; quick hands with advanced plate coverage, makes consistent barrel contact, keeps bat on level path through the strike zone, uses all fields with gap power; At SS he flashed impressive range, capable of using backhand at short to take away hits in the hole, strong enough arm to make play across infield, sure glove, smooth and easy transfer from glove to throwing hand.
Preseason - West (February 19, 2018)
At the plate uses a crouched stance, back load for timing, hands in front of his head with a slight bat waggle pre-pitch, mostly level bat plane through contact, 82 mph exit velocity off a tee with more to come in as he continues to physically mature. Defensively, active lower half, fields the ball out in front, quick glove to hand transfer, throws from multi-arm slots, was 78 mph across the diamond on the day however was 79 mph across the diamond back in September. excited to see him this spring - summer, good-looking middle infield prospect from the Rochester NY area.
WNY All-Star Games (September 24, 2017)
Wiry, athletic 6-foot-0 170 pound SS/RHP. Offensively- An impressive round of BP with mostly line drive results through the middle of the field. Flexion in the lower half with stance with a spring load of weight back during the load of his hands. Short quiet stride before he explodes through contact. Swing path stays short with a 2-handed finish. Repeatable stroke with room for power potential with improved extension. Exit velocity was 82 MPH. Defensively- Choppy but active breakdown steps to the ball, hands can get underneath at times with a bit of stab towards teh ball. Upright in throwing motion with short, over-the-top release with carry at 79 MPH across the diamond. Pitching- Live arm sitting 80-82 MPH, works center of the rubber with a chest high leg drive with slight coil away from the plate. Features some cross fire action with stride to the 3B side; arm slot traditional 3/4. FB command will need to improve but foundation is there. Mixed in change up at 71-72 MPH.
