A strong frame at 6-foot-1, 200 pounds. Offensively- the right handed hitter displayed hard consistent contact and had a personal best of a 90 exit velocity. Stands in the box in a tall stace and simple load actions. Stays balanced throughout the swing. Defenesively- the 3B sits back on the baseball. Displays good funnel actions and has a quick release from a high ¾ arm slot. Top throwing velocity was 75 MPH. Pitching- the right handed pitcher displayed a repeatable delivery. Showed feel for three pitches during the bullpen session. Does a good job using his powerful lower half and driving downhill from a balanced backside. FB peaked at 81 MPH. CB is tight and ranged from 60-61 MPH. Feel for a CH at 66-68 MPH. The 2020 graduate is a projectable arm with feel for three pitches.
2.18.19
A physical 6-foot-1, 200 pounds projectable frame. Ran a 7.97 60 yard dash. Offensively- Stands in the box with feet shoulder width apart. Simple load, has a slight armbar before attacking the baseball. Flat pat bat path through the hitting zone. Balanced throughout the swing. Ball jumps off the bat. Shows some power potential with consistent hard contact during the hitting portion. Exit velocity was 88 MPH. Defensively- Displayed soft hands during the infield portion. Above average exchange to a quick release on throws across the diamond. Throws from a ¾ arm slot, best throwing velocity across the infield was 77 MPH. Pitching- Repeatable delivery and easy arm action with not much effort. Gets in a good balance position and smooth hand separation. Could use more lower half drive. Good command of the FB which peaked at 80 MPH. CB has an early break and ranged 64-67 MPH. Feel for a CH 72-73 MPH. The 2020 graduate has some room to grow on the mound. Must follow this spring and summer.
July 2018
Physical, athletic frame working from the arm side of the rubber. FB ranges 77-78, touching 79 MPH. Floods the zone with strikes, at times to his disadvantage. Shown feel for lateral action breaking ball at 64-65 MPH and same plane change up in the upper 60’s. Positive mound presence.
Good size at the corner. Choppy actions to the ball, short arm action from a high 3/4 slot, 73 mph across the diamond. In the box he uses a simple set-up and load, no wasted movement. Good balance in the box with a mostly level swing through contact, bat has next-level projection curently. Plenty of time to grow and mature for the 2020 greater Elmira prospect.
