Strong arm from the left side of the infield with accuracy. Stayed through the middle during BP with pull side some gap pop.

Physical 6-foot-2 182 pound frame for the left-handed hitting 3B/C. He ran an improved 7.87 60. Offensively- Slightly open stance; quiet load and stride staying behind the ball at contact with an aggressive lower half. Compact swing path with some juice to his pull side; exit velocity was 82 MPH. Defensively- New to the catching position; elevated secondary position with segmented transfer. Will need work with fluidity from reception to release. Pop times range between 2.15-2.22 with peak arm strength at 70 MPH. At 3B he creates proper angles; stays active with footwork; presents glove early and out in front. Would like to see quicker release off of his initial shuffle step. Adequate left side arm at 80 MPH across the diamond.

Cordero stands in at 6-foot-0, 185-pounds with thick athletic frame. Ran an 8.2 – 60, a slight improvement from his previously recorded 8.27 in January 2016. Offensively- Lefty sets up square to the pitcher with his feet shoulder width apart. Slight knee bend with an upright torso while his hands are held just below his back shoulder with no pre-pitch movement. On pitch his trigger is a quick knee raise and a quiet step forward while his hands move back slightly into a good hitting position. Quick hands getting into the hitting zone with power potential bat action throughout the swing into a high one handed finish. Good lower body rotation getting whole frame into swing; showed lift to his pull side. Recorded an exit velocity of 80 MPH, tying his personal best previously recorded in August of 2016. Defensively- Good footwork and approach fielding a ground ball. Funnels into chest well with a good transition to the throwing position. Hesitates a little before throwing, and will be improved with a more aggressive move towards throwing target and a better arm swing to release the baseball quicker. Moves well left/right and on the run well; positive middle infield actions. Recorded a positional velocity of 71 MPH, tying his personal best previously recorded in February of 2016.  2B/3B mold at the next level.
