5-foot-11, 160-pounds with a lean frame. Defensively, steady tempo in footwork, glove and funnel are quick and clean. Arm action is long in the back, 73 mph. In the box he's relaxed and confidence, quick to the ball. Pulls barrel through the zone with slight lift in swing and hard contact to his pullside. 86 mph exit velo.

Lanky slender body style. Long arm take away that gets up to an over the top slot. Smooth and steady mechanically. Has positive upside. With some whip action.
Crusaders Workout (February 10, 2018)
Espinal is a 5’11” 160 pound SS/RHP with an athletic frame. He ran a 7.36 60 and a Home to 1st time of 4.27 from the left side. Offensively - Even stance with weight evenly distributed.  Slight leg kick, which leads to an easy, loose and short left-handed swing which explodes during launch.  Exit velo was 86 MPH off the tee, a big jump from November. Showed some power and the ability to use all parts of the field.  Defensively - Shows athleticism, but plays tall. Infield velocity 76 MPH. Will need to work on staying down and through the ball. Solid athletic actions. Pitching - Max FB was 82 MPH, sitting 79-81 MPH. CB 65-67, CH 72-73.  Sets up in the middle of the mound...easy and fluid delivery with ¾ arm slot with 12/6 action on the CB.
Last Chance Preview-Downstate (November 18, 2017)
Espinal is a 5-foot-11 155 pound SS/RHP with an athletic build and room to fill out. He ran a 7.36 60. Offensively- Stands straight up, knees slightly bent and legs a little bit outside his shoulders. Hands start high and tight, near his ear, waiving the bat up and down pre pitch. Raises the front foot to start load in sync with pitch, stays strong on backside. Easy swing that finds barrels consistently and hits the ball hard to all fields. Stays through the ball well. Exit velocity of 76 MP; line drive results. Defensively- Gets around the ball from shortstop, creating easy angle towards first base. Possesses soft hands and quick feet. Shuffles feet into his throw; arm strength of 76 MPH. Pitching- Starts in the middle of the rubber, steps to the side, brings lead leg upper chest. Front foot pointed towards first base upon landing. Arm slot high 3/4, with fastball sitting 79-81 MPH, topping at 82 MPH; slight arm side run. Curveball 12-6 break, drops out of the zone, sitting 64-65 MPH. Demonstrated control with changeup, same arm speed as fastball with a range of 69-71 MPH. Has ability to do both hitting and fielding at next level.
