Physical: 6-foot-2, 190-pounds. Tall, strong physical frame.
Run: 7.47 runner in the 60. stays inline, good form.
Hit: RHH. Solid balanced base, small basic leg kick leading into quick hand movement to the ball upward swing path resulting in consistent contact, drives thru the ball, balanced two handed finish.
Power: 82 MPH raw exit velocity. consistent hard contact to all parts of the field.
Defense: 2.19-2.25 pop times. quick transfer, strong accurate throws to second on the glove side of the bag.
Arm: medium arm swing, 3/4 arm slot. C - 72 MPH.
Jimenez has a projectable 6-foot-1, 180 pounds. Offensively-the right handed hitter displayed hard consistent contact during batting practice at the Fall top prospect games. Jimenez has low effort load actions. He does a good job using his lower half and stays balanced throughout the swing. Gets full extension after the point of contact. Defensively- Jimenez improved his numbers from earlier in the summer at the Fall Top Prospect games. Jimenez will tend to stand straight up when transferring the ball to a high ¾ arm slot. Jimenez had a pop time best 2.15.
Offensively- the right handed hitter stands in the box in a tall stance with feet shoulder width apart. Low effort simple load actions. Displayed hard consistent contact to the middle and opposite side of the field. Defensively- the OF displayed an aggressive approach to the baseball. Fields the ball slightly off center. Displayed accurate arm with a velocity of 74 MPH.
A wiry projectable 6-foot-1, 180 pounds. Offensively- Stands in the box in a tall stance with slight bend in the knees. Short stride towards the pitcher. Short load, keeps his hands close to his body. Showed some pull side pop. Stays balanced throughout his swing. Could use more leg drive. Top exit velocity 78 MPH. Defensively- Sits in a low narrow stance. Presents a big target for the pitcher. Shows above average footwork. Above average transfer and a quick release on throws to the plate. Throwing velocity to second base was 75 MPH. Pop time ranged from 2.20-2.26. Catcher has some upside and a projectable frame. As he continues to develop and get stronger he will be an interesting player to follow.
