The 2020 right handed pitcher improved his numbers this summer at the St. Rose Campus Series event. Ethan displayed a repeatable delivery and an impressive two pitch mix in live game action. FB peaked at 79 MPH and CB had sharp late break down in the zone ranging from 67-70 MPH. Gay is has a projectable frame and will be a pitcher to follow going into his senior season.
A projectable frame at 6-feet-0 tall, 170 pounds. Pitching- The RHP displayed a repeatable delivery and a live projectable arm. Works mainly from the left side of the rubber. Works with tempo. Uses a high knee lift. Drives downhill from a balanced back side. Has smooth hand separation before balance point. FB has some downward tilt. FB peaked at 77 MPH. Showed feel for a CB down in the zone and ranged from 65-68 MPH. The 2020 RHP has upside and is a must follow.
5-foot-11, 155-pounds. Ran a 7.70 60 Yard Dash. Pitching - Smooth, fluid delivery with a quick tempo/pace. Maintains balance and body control while working down the slope. Consistently gets extension out over front side. Clean arm path. 3/4 release point. Ball comes out of hand easily. FB topped at 74 MPH and sat 72-73 MPH. Also mixed in a sharp 12/6 CB at 62-65 MPH and CH at 67-68 MPH with some late fade. Overall, mechanically sound with a feel for 3 quality pitches. Improving overall strength will help development.
