7/30/19

A lean athletic frame at 5-foot-11, 145 pounds. Offensively-the right handed hitter stands in the box in a tall stance and feet shoulder width apart. Simple load actions. Fast twitch swing. Good use of the lower half. Stays balanced throughout the swing. Defensively- the infielder displayed active footwork during the infield portion of the showcase. Gets himself in a good position when fielding the baseball. Smooth funnel actions and quick release from a mid ¾ arm slot.

12/16/17

Scanlon stands at 5-foot-10, 140 pounds, good frame with potential for significant growth.  Ran home to first in 4.17.  Offensively- Righty with wide opened stance.  Hands held at shoulder height.  Leg lift with stride to engage.  Compact swing at a flat plane through the zone.  Exit velocity 71-mph.  Defensively- smooth approach, square base, fields behind the ball.  Fluid ball to hand transfer, quick arm action at a 3/4- arm slot.  70-mph across the diamond.  Scanlon is young and could benefit from added arm conditioning to strengthen arm during the off season.

July 2018

Wiry frame, active lower half defensively, clean glove with above average actions. Made an advanced play to his right with a dive and quick release to second.

May 2017

5-foot-9 and 140 pounds, Scanlon is a slick-fielding shortstop capable of making plays in the hole and up the middle, sure glove with an arm that shows potential for plus power, makes smooth transition from glove to throwing hand. Bats leadoff, makes consistent contact and uses all fields.
