Peak FB: 72; FB Range: 70-72; CB/SL Range: 59-60 CH Range: 64-65
6/6/2018:
Deaveiro ran a 7.86-60. Arm strength measured at 71-MPH from the outfield.
Winter Open (February 26, 2017)
Futures Instructional (March 5, 2016)
James now stands 5-foot-8 and 136 pounds. He ran an improved 7.82 60 (from 8.30) and a 4.71 home-to-1B. Offensively- James sets up in a an even and balanced stance. He uses a up-down leg kick for timing with minimal loading actions with his hands. Stays back into contact and is aggressive with lower half. Swing path shows some early length but he's able to stay through the zone. Line drive/flyball results with a peak exit velocity of 71 MPH (Up 6 MPH from last year). Defensively- In the outfield James uses a controlled approach into a sound crowhop. Overall effort could be more aggressive to feed into his release. Arm strength was 64 MPH with more available. Pitching- On the mound James sets up to his glove side with a short drop step up to a belt high balance point. Arm action is long and without any restrictions, working through a 3/4 slot. Would like to see increased tempo and acceleration into his finish. FB was 62-63 MPH, up 8 MPH from last year's event. Change up was in the 57-59 MPH range with some arm side fade.
Futures Showcase (February 28, 2015)
DeAveriro stands 5-foot-5, 130-pounds with room to grow. Offensively- At the plate his setup is wide. On the pitch he uses a no-stride, loads back, long path to the ball - hands drop some. Barrel path is uphill some, shows extension after contact with a shoulder height finish.Defensively- In the OF he catches the ball arm side, has a slower transfer, arm action is back towards SS, clean, release from a lower-3/4 slot. Needs to work on charging the ball harder and getting his back side through this throws. Pitching - On the mound he uses a long side step, knee lift about belt, hands stay relaxed against chest. Tempo is in rhythm. His stride is short, front glove side opens up, head stays on target, releases the ball from a mid-3/4 slot. Needs to get through his back side more on his finish.
