Preseason - East (February 22, 2018)
Strong 5-foot-9 165 pound right-handed hitting SS; ran a 4.41 home-to-1B. Offensively- Even setup; some pre-pitch bat activity with short load and stride. Short, compact stroke into the zone with a pull side finish. Exit velocity was 80 MPH. Defensively- Active defender; slight delay after recieving the ball before getting into his release. Can make the play on the run and release from multiple angles. Personal best of 78 MPH across the diamond. Pitching- On the mound feet start together; slight side step up to a belt high leg drive. Arm action is moderately long working through a low 3/4 arm slot. Works through his lower half vs. up and over. FB touched 79 MPH while sitting 75-77 MPH. Breaking ball showed more lateral action with some late tilt; more of slider. Change up worked in at 68-71 MPH.
Eastern NY All-Star Games (September 17, 2017)
Athletic 5-foot-9 165 pound frame for the SS/RHP. Offensively- Sets up with feet even and weight pre-loaded over back side with hands at head height. Minimal actions during timing with and aggressive lower half and a short swing plane that stays in the zone for an extended time. Groundball/line drive results with an exit velocity of 84 MPH. Defensively- Quick first step; ranges well laterally. Would like to see momentum carry through throws on traditional forehands. Arm strength was 75 MPH across the diamond. Pitching- Sets up with feet close together in the center of the rubber with a short side step up to a belt high balance point. Arm action is infield like with a low 3/4 slot. Keeps the FB around the knees and to both sides of the plate at 76-78 MPH. Did not show secondary offerings.
