Comments
Stands at an athletic 6-foot-1, 180 pounds with a good solid athletic frame. Showed his athleticism with a Home-to-first laser time of 4.06. Offensively- Starts stance slightly opened with his front foot turned into the plate. Has a small buggy whip action at the beginning of his swing which allowed him to generate enough power to have the highest exist velocity reading of the day at 91 MPH off the tee. Has good lower half rotation with a very efficient path bath and plus extension creating backspin on every ball he hit in the cage. Struggled to get on top of the high fastball and really excelled at driving pitches lower in the zone. Defensively - Great job of getting his footwork setup to work around the ball. Would like to see him improve on attacking the baseball on his transfer rather than bringing the baseball in close to his body. Throws from a 3/4 arm slot and registered 81 MPH from the SS position. With good lateral range he definitely projects for continued improvement and is definitely a high follow for the 2017 Class.
Eastern NY All-Star Game (September 13, 2015)
Stands at 6-foot-1, 175 pounds, with an athletic body build. Defensively - He has a smooth approach through the ball, with smooth, soft, quick hands, throws with a clean loose action, arm is very strong across the diamond, plays through the ball nicely, with lots of range, and has accuracy on the target. Offensively - At the plate his setup is relaxed and very balanced, short, small toe tap stride, with a smooth load. His hands are very compact and strong, swinging on a level plane with long/full extension through the ball, with an athletic balance throughout the whole swing. He shows a lot of life in his bat
Preseason All-Long Island Event (February 20, 2015)
Greco stands in at 6-foot-1, 175-pounds with a lean athletic build. Defensively- In the field he’s aggressive, get around the ball with glove out in front. Moves with rhythm with a clean exchange, quick release, arm action down and long with an over the top arm slot, gets through his throws. Showed a 79mph arm velocity. Offensively- At the plate he starts with an open stance, hands right above his ears with a clean rhythm and loads back on the pitch. Stride is short and balanced; bat path is short and quick to the ball and stays level through the zone. Hands inside the ball, hips stay closed. Gets full extension through the ball, finish is high above shoulders, balanced. Shows an 83mph exit velocity. Ability to handle the bat at high-level with power, and has a 4.16 home to first time. Projected to be an above average high school player. All though he’s young he will be a stand out on the varsity level. Pitching - Greco stands 6-foot-1, 175-pounds with a next-level projectable body. On the mound he uses a simple, paced delivery. High knee lift, hands by his head before separation, drives off back side, down arm action, shows ball early on back of arm action, releases ball from a high-3/4 close to over-the top slot. Fastball sits 78 mph with some side action. Long stride off mound, collapses some on front landing leg.
