Physical: 5-foot-11, 185 pounds; Sturdy, athletic build. 7.48 runner in the 60. Offensively: RHH. Even setup, with feet shoulder width apart; has a pre-pitch bat waggle. Short take back with the hands with an up and down stride for timing. Stays behind the ball while showing a strong lower half. Showed a direct swing path with a high finish. More line drives than flyballs and groundballs with a peak exit velocity of 83 MPH via Trackman. Defensively: Starts with an upright /tall setup; uses prep hop while showing active feet. Hands are off to the side with a seamless transfer. Moderate arm circle from a standard 3/4 arm slot. OF - 76 MPH.
6/28/21
Physical: Strong, well proportioned 5-foot-11, 170lb frame with feel for his body. 7.33 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH - Wide, even stance with the hands wiggling at a high position to start; utilized a short lift and replace stride to initiate the bat head through a simple, slightly uphill path at a low intent. Showcased high bat to ball skills and was spraying barrels all over the field during a balanced batting practice round. Produced a 50% fly ball rate (via Trackman) with occasional loft up to a 303 foot batted ball distance. Mostly singles power at the moment featuring extra-base hit abilities through the LCF gap (T86 mph bat-exit velocity, 81 mph AVG). Was able to match the plane of the pitch out of the hand and carried a solid approach into game action where he commanded the strike zone.
Defensively: The primary outfielder demonstrated an up tempo pace during defense, sticking his foot in the ground and coming to get the baseball with a loose glove hand shown off his left side. Funneled inward cleanly and transferred to the throwing ear, releasing from a quick trigger at H ¾ (T77 mph arm, left field projection).
2/17/21
Physical: Large, well put together 5-foot-11, 170-pound frame exuding strength in the actions. 7.46 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH - Upright, wide stance from an even start, the hands bagan high with slow rhythm at the head. Utilized a short lift and replace stride remaining high in the posture at land as the hands whipped through a flat path into the hitting zone. Featured a mostly pull-side approach during batting practice while hitting into a stiff front side; liked to get the arms extended on pitches out over the plate where he could do damage with doubles power to the LCF gap (316 foot max batted ball distance). Registered a solid 88 mph bat-exit velocity per Trackman Baseball.
Defensively: The primary outfielder approached the ball with average tempo, stayed upright in the posture, bending at the waist. Fielded off the left side of his body with a soft glove hand, accurate 74 mph arm strength from a loose, high ¾ slot; used mostly arm.
