Athletic build with frame that can handle more weight at 5-foot-9, 165 pounds. Offensively - Balanced set-up, feet square to the pitcher with some slight knee bend. Subtle forward stride to create separation. Hands pull back to load before working down to the ball quickly. Compact swing that consistently stayed inside of the ball and produced line drive contact during BP. Stayed balanced thru contact. Defensively – Presents a low, compact target. Soft glove hand when receiving. Exchanges ball high and gets feet aligned with 2nd base quickly. Quick, compact arm action with looseness at release. Gets backside thru on throws. Projectable catching actions.

Fundamentally-sound catcher; sure glove with impressive blocking skills, uses agile footwork and linear movements to get into throwing motion, accurate arm with developing strength, confident glove, smooth and easy transfer to throwing hand; Offensively he showed strong hands, makes consistent barrel contact, comfortable staying middle third of the field.

Murphy stands 5-foot-9, 160-pounds with backstop projected size. Offensively- Even setup, hands start by his shoulders loose, small stride on the pitch. Short path showing some juice to his pull-side. Consistent barrel contact, short extension through contact. Exit velocity peaked at 80 MPH. Defensively- Behind the plate Murphy receives with soft hands, clean transfer, pop-times ranged from 2.08-2.12 with a 62 MPH arm-strength.
