Carvell

Carvell is a slender 5-foot-10, 145 pound SS/RHP, ran a 7.26 60 yard dash time.  Offensively- Narrow stance with big front leg trigger.  Slight bat wrap but quick to the ball with aggressive swing.  Doesn’t get cheated on his swings while producing an exit velocity of 78 MPH.  Defensively-  Smooth and agile, active footwork, with easy transfer to throwing hand and accurate arm at 75 MPH. Could benefit from being more in sync with his throwing footwork but overall foundation is there.  Pitching- Carvell uses mid rubber set up with hands chest high.  Rocker step and leg lift to chest as he reaches his balance point.  Hands break down and away from body as he strides to the plate with fastball that sat 76-78 MPH; showed a slide step from the stretch.  CB was 66-67 MPH with some bite but hand needs to stay on top of the ball for consistent spin rotation.  A good all around athlete in the 2019 class.
