3/19/19: On a cold, windy afternoon, DeVito pounded the lower half of the strike zone with heavy fastball reliance. Sidesaddle start to delivery in the windup, balance is good on back leg in a lower, powerful gather point. Straight direction going down the mound, but heavy spin off toward first base side on most pitches. Heavy armside sink on FB. Can benefit from more of a balanced finish at release At 91-93 touching 94 early on, DeVito moved in and out with FB, using sinking action into right handers to get poor contact. Work up for swing and miss on one strikeout, but majority of FB's were at the knees. Repeatability is in question, however, due to heavy fall off to first base side on finish (see side video) -- it did not affect his command as much. Works quickly and dictates the tempo of the game. Used CH as swing and miss over CB on this day, perhaps due to the harsh weather conditions. Pitchability is high -- CB shows good, late downer action with 11/5 tilt. Changeup is deceptive at 80-81 with four-seam fastball spin and FB arm action. Made pitches when it mattered. 7 IP, 3 H, 1 XBH, 3 K, 3 BB. Challenged with fastball and didn't get beat on this day. Overall competitiveness was present. CH ahead of CB on this day. Starter at the next level with two plus shaped pitches and a ground ball producing fastball. (TJ Hunt)

8/15/18:Slender bodied at six-foot-three, 175 pounds, DeVito ran his fastball up to 94 mph from a high three-quarters slot with a sling arm action. Neither an unstable landing with a bent front knee, nor a deep, hooking arm path inhibited his control as he repeated the path and release point while maintaining his velocity for six innings. Competed with a late sinking fastball which ranged from 89-94 mph and an above average-to-plus at times 75-76 mph curveball. Three-quarter rotation on the CB was deceptive with very late, at the plate action. Freeze pitch. Also mixed in a split grip changeup at 79-81. Above average pitch with depth to action. With an imperfect delivery and arm action, DeVito doesn’t do it in a desirable fashion, but his three above average pitch arsenal is undeniable. With a solid spring season of strike-throwing, look for him to be considered on Day Two. (Seifert)
