Academic Games (June 3, 2017)

5-foot-10, 175 pounds with a sturdy pitcher’s build registered a home to first time of 4.80Offensively - Fluid, effective load, short to the baseball with an exit velocity of 73 MPH, positive bat plane; matches pitch effectively. Line-to-line approach with some developing power. Repeats efforts; results play  better then exit velocity indicates. Defensively - Utilizes prep step hop to stay active. Sound footwork, soft hands, quick release with an infield velocity of 69 MPH. Improved (Showing) arm strength will lead him to being a front line 3B; tools are there.Seems to have it in him as evidenced on the mound.  Pitching - Right-hander with clean arm action and downward plane that creates poor contact from hitter, fastball at 75-77 MPH (a 6 MPH increase) shows increase from last summer at 70-71 MPH, effectively uses curveball at 63-67 MPH, works in a slurve at 65-66 MPH.
WNY Prospect Preview (July 5, 2016)
Sean checks in at 5-foot-9, 155 pounds at 3B/RHP. He ran a 4.68 home to 1B. Offensively- Sean’s approach at the plate starts with his feet just outside shoulder width apart and his hands just below his back shoulder. Has a nice effective load, allowing him to shift his weight back before exploding into the ball. Using a very low leg kick; takes a small stride. Exit velocity of 83 MPH; Line-drive/fly ball results. Defensively- Sean showed smooth hands receiving the ball, with good footwork into his throw. Uses a short arm action with a slight hitch. Sean displayed an arm strength of 68 MPH at 3B. Pitching- On the mound, Sean sets up with his feet wide, just outside shoulder width. Using a quick; jerky wind-up, Sean ends up with his back foot to the left side of the rubber.; uses a short- catcher like throwing motion, with his FB clocking in at 70-71 MPH. Sean favored his curveball, which had early 1-to-7 action; coming in at 64-65 MPH. His changeup was effective, getting rollover type contact at 61-63 MPH.
