Forlenza

Forlenza is a 6-foot-2 170 pound LHP/1B with a frame that has room to fill out. He ran an impressive 6.68 60 time. Offensively- Forlenza has his feet a little more than shoulder width apart, and his front leg slightly opened. His hands start by his shoulders; drifts them perfectly just before he loads. The load is smooth and quick as he uses a strong core to rotate his hips and allows his quick hands to travel through the zone. Forlenza’s bat stays in the zone for quite some time, maximizing his power while yielding an exit velocity of 86 MPH.  Defensively- Forlenza shows sound footwork in transitioning from holding a runner on to his fielding position; ready to range to either side and receiving the ball out in front of him. Much like his pitching release point, his throws from the field are out of a ¾ slot and throws across the diamond peak at 72 MPH. Pitching-  Sets up on the 3rd base side of the rubber and stands up tall. Forlenza hides the ball very well, which will help him as his consistently threw to the inside corner of a righty hitter. His fastball sat between 72-74 MPH with some arm side run and he seemed to only miss up in the zone when he maxed his fastball at 76 MPH. Changeup compliments his fastball, looking identical out of the hand but with great drop and change of velocity as it ranged 69-70 MPH. With proper weight training and dedication, Forlenza can see velocity increase.
