Physical: High-waisted, projectable 6-foot-3, 170-pound frame with length in the build and increased feel on the bump / VCU commit.
Pitching: LHP - Started from the right side of the rubber with a deliberate side rocker step, high leg lift with above-average pace throughout the delivery, cleared the hips early with straight line drive upon footstrike while showing above average hip-shoulder separation creating whip, high ¾ slot with fluidity and length (full arm circle). FB ranged from 84-86 T87 mph featuring an upwards of 2187 rpms of spin per Trackman Baseball, played well above the belt and paired it up with a sharp, two-plane 70-72 mph breaker with 1/7 shape and peak of 2450 rpms. Mixed in a 76-77 mph CH with occasional slight down action which showed adequate command.
Physical: 6-foot-3, 170 pounds; long, slender build. 7.39 runner in the 60.
Offensively: LHH. Open, narrow stance with high hands; hands stay static at ear level, toe tap stride. Average effort in lower half with flat bat path that stays on-plane through the zone. Sprayed the ball to all fields; peak Trackman exit velocity of 88 MPH.
Defensively: Upright positioning; laid back approach with smooth, effortless actions. Seamless transfer; standard 3/4 arm slot. INF - 82 MPH.
Pitching: Glove side setup, up-tempo knee to chest leg lift, long stride to the plate down the mound; loose & athletic on the mound with whippy arm action. Long, fluid arm action from standard 3/4 arm slot. FB: Peak velo of 85 MPH, while sitting 82-85 MPH. Gets arm side movement. CB: 69-72 MPH. 2-8 rotation, tight spin with good combo of sweep & depth. CH: 72-74 MPH. Good vertical separation from FB.
Physical: 6-foot-3, 170-pounds. Tall, lean, projectable frame. 7.99 runner in the 60; 5 home-to-1B.
Offensively: LHH. Upright, open stance with slightly bent knees, hands are high and have some movement on load along with a small stride for timing. Short, flat barrel path getting to the ball quickly, tends to hit the top of the ball generating topspin. Hard contact to pull-side. 81 MPH raw exit velocity.
Defensively: Athletic movements approaching the ball, gets low working ground up, fielding the ball in the middle of his body, shuffles to release. Short arm swing; high 3/4 slot. INF - 75 MPH.
Pitching Delivery: Builds momentum with high leg lift and slight turn, Stride gets out long and in line while glove arm gets high with some shoulder tilt before pulling into a repeatable release and follow through.
Arm Action: Long, clean arm action, high 3/4 slot.
FB: T81, 78-80 MPH. Downhill plane, arm side run with life into the zone.
CB: 66-68 MPH. Sharp, late 1-7 break.
CH: 72-73 MPH. Fastball arm speed with arm side fade.
The lanky athletic frame is projectable at 6-foot-3, 170 pounds. Offensively- the left handed hitter works from an open stance. Quick direct path to the baseball. Displayed a consistent line drive swing by spraying the ball all over the field. Defensively- the infielder worked out at first base. Blake has low effort actions and throws from a high mid ¾ arm slot. Pitching- the left handed pitcher displayed a repeatable delivery and a live projectable arm. Blake improved from his last performance in the summer. FB peaked at 82 MPH from 78 MPH. FB has late arm side run and lives down in the zone. CB has a sharp late break and the CH is still developing. Blake has a lot of upside and is a must follow.
Slightly open stance in the box from the lean, lanky lefty. Frame has the ability to hold more weight. Gets back to even on the pitch, barrel path is short, path has some slight lift to it, short extension through the ball, shows more power to his pull-side, young and still developing. Defensively, handles the corner with ease, strong footwork with a long arm-swing, quick and easy out in front. On the mound there's plenty to like. He uses quick tempo to his delivery, repeats, slight hitch prior to powering towards home. Arm-swing is back and long, high 3/4 slot with hand-speed out in front. Velo will come as he physically develops, CB shows 1/7 medium shape.
