Hofstra commit No. 24 Vito Friscia C (Valley Stream HS) stands 6-foot-3, 205 pounds and passes the eye test. Behind the plate he shows a big, strong lower half, receives baseball out in front of his body. On his throws to second he gains ground, uses a quick clean transfer, throws from an over-the-top slot, low 80's arm strength. Pop times steady between 1.85-1.9 all day and accurate. His approach at the plate is upright with high hands. On the pitch he powers his hands inside the ball, short path to the ball. Swing is uphill, signs of power potential, but catches the bottom half of the ball creating fly-balls more than he would like. There is good balance through his swing and his finish is high.
