Alex Boles: OF/RHP, (2023) Waverly, OH. Wabash Valley JC Commit, 6-foot, 185-pound. (74.4 mph bat speed average). (18.9 mph hand speed average). Starts in a balanced athletic stance with a controlled load, then uses a quick stride. Bat speed is quick, has a simple upward swing plane and good extension on his finish. Solid in the outfield, he showed a plus arm and had life on his throws with a position velocity of 89 mph;showed soft hands, a natural exchange, and quick feet. Laterally, movements were athletic and fielded the ball out front. Used a loose arm action and a high ¾ slot. Performed well in the 60-yard dash, clocking a speedy time of 6.46. On the mound, showed some arm speed with a loose arm action and a high ¾ arm angle. Drop-and-drive type pitcher who shows some effort. Has slight running action. (Max spin 2132; Avg 2005). Threw a 11/5 curveball with some action. (Max spin 2319; Avg 2247). Shows late action on his 10/4 slider. (Max spin 2254; Avg 2228).
Scouting Notes:A lot to like here. Uber athletic, high spin guy who projects for more velocity. Like the other parts of his game expect him only to get better. Can really spin a breaking ball, showing present swing/miss.

Scouting Notes:Obvious athleticism on the mound with pitchability. Works quickly with good tempo. Long back arm action through a high-3/4 slot. Fastball should see easy velo increases as physical maturation takes its course. Both breaking balls and changeup are above average offerings for class. Slider was very sharp getting consistent swing/miss.

2/9/20 Pitching
Delivery Notes: Boles work from the middle of the rubber and shows a somewhat low ¾ arm slot which is accentuated by the slight crossfire nature of his delivery. He builds momentum down the mound fairly well.
Fastball: The fastball was 79-81 mph and showed mostly true through the zone.
Curveball: His breaking ball was 66-69 mph was a slurvey shape and didn’t presently show a ton of bite but has the potential into a higher quality offering.
Changeup: The changeup was 70-73 mph.
Pitchability: Pretty good feel for his three pitch mix. Secondary offerings still show some degree of need for refinement but overall moves athletically on the mound and creates good leverage with his long levers. Definitely a guy who could see a big velo spike as he adds strength to his frame.
2/9/20 Position Player
Hit: At the plate he shows a simple hip hinge load and shows a bit of stiffness to his swing. Shows a line drive approach.
Power: 70 mph exit velocity.
Offensive Projection: Presently projects to be more of an average hitter than gap to gap or power guy. Shows good athleticism at times but lacks some basic fundamental skills. Still an overall projectable prospect.
Field: In the infield he aggressively attacked the ball with good rhythm and timing. He showed good hands a quick, efficient transfer on his throws. In the outfield he showed below average footwork and rhythm and was overly two handed when attacking balls. Shows quick arm and good carry on his throws.
Throw: 72 mph across the diamond and 85 mph from the outfield.
Defensive Projection: Showed good raw arm strength from the outfield but much more defensive polish and better instincts in the infield. Good athleticism and could project at either IF or OF at the next level.
Body Type: 5-foot-10, 131-pound and athletic frame.
Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Quick delivery with a longer arm action and dynamic lower half. More velocity to come as physical maturation takes place.
Fastball: 73-77mph. Slight glove side movement that can be adjusted with grip. Ability to locate on both corners of the plate well.
Curveball: 63-64mph. 11/5 movement for a solid offering. Ability to locate in the zone consistently.
Pitchability: High pitch ability working inner and outer half of the plate.
Additional Comments: Young prospect with high potential.
Body type: 5-foot-10, 131-pound thin and athletic frame.
Swing mechanics: Minimal lower half load while his hands stay back. Rotates hips slightly while his hands get loaded.
Hit: Downhill bat path to all fields. Stays inside the baseball well.
Power: Line drive guy right now. Pop will come as he adds size, and develops.
Offensive projection: Top of the lineup guy.
Field: Middle infielder with aggressive feet. Plays through the baseball well with above averaeg ball skills for class.
Throw: Arm works well and has strength behind it.
Defensive Projection: TBD.

Two-way prospect. On the bump the right-hander uses an uptempo delivery that requires some effort. Big leg lift followed by a drop and drive load. Long, loose arm through a high-¾ slot. The slider has more swing and miss to it than the breaking ball. Completing his arsenal is a changeup that has some fade to it at 59-63 mph. At the plate he has a very balanced, efficient swing from the right side. Strength stands out in hands with present jump off the barrel. A feel hitter that can square the ball up regular generating easy backspin. A rangy defender up the middle of the infield with aggressive feet. Ball skills are above average for age. Very loose arm that projects for more strength down the road. Good player.

5-foot-8, 120 pound lanky framed right handed pitcher throws out of a ¾ arm slot with a longer arm action. Tempo was an even paced as he displayed a higher leg kick and average mechanics. Fastball was 63-66 mph with slight arm side run. Curveball was 54-56 mph and developing in command and spin. Changeup was average showing some downward tumble at 58-61 mph.
