Quality showing from the Mason product. Ran one of the better times for Team Ohio before flashing the leather in the infield. True middle skill set considering his athletic feet, smooth actions and some of the top ball skills the state has to offer. Arm also showed well and will continue to progress along with hit tool as he fills out. Top of the lineup profile offensively. Smooth/athletic actions to load sequence followed by a level, efficient path through the zone. Already shows above average bat speed and should continue to add pop as he fills out his athletic frame. Consistently backspun the ball to opposite field gap in BP.
Andrew Cox: SS/RHP, (2023) William Mason, OH. 5-foot-11, 155-pound. Athletic at the plate, the right-handed hitter's best exit velocity was 91 mph. Began in a balanced athletic stance with a smooth controlled load, then used a short stride. Barreled up multiple balls with some loud contact. Athletic In the infield, has athletic feet, soft consistent hands, and a clean fluid exchange. Fields the ball out front, movements laterally were athletic. During the event, clocked a 60 time of 7.25.
5-foot-11, 155-pound lanky frame. Capable during batting practice, the right-handed hitter had an exit velocity of 88 mph. Began in an open stance with a controlled load, then used a long stride. Bat speed was above average, showed a level upward swing plane and a front foot finish. He barreled up multiple balls with some loud contact. Line drive approach. While in the infield, recorded position velocities up to 75 mph. Displayed speed and athleticism at the event, recording a 60 time of 6.92. Fluid on the mound, used a consistent arm action with a ¾ arm angle while showing quick arm speed. Feel type pitcher who uses some effort. Displays in line shoulders and an athletic balance point. Lands square with an athletic finish. Sat with his fastball at 80-82 mph; showed consistent command and running action with flat movement. Showed tight action and control low in the zone on his 11/5 curveball (69-71). His changeup (73-75) showed fading action and arm side command.

Scouting Notes:A definite follow in the 2023 class. Stood out across the board as a position player and also on the mound. Very efficient delivery that will easily support added velo as physical maturation takes its course. High velo ceiling for class. Mechanical/Delivery Notes: A smooth arm action that sits back and drives to home plate but still has some left in the tank. Good feel for the mound.
Fastball: 67-71mph. 1,800-1,900 spin rate with low 90% efficiency on Rapsodo. Tended to leave up in the zone but showed potential to locate on the corners.
Curveball: 60-65mph. Tight spin with sharp movement on a 12/6 plane. In and out of the zone but very effective when in the zone.
