Ben Leopold: RHP/OF, (2023) Wadsworth, OH. 5-foot-11, 170-pound. At the plate, Leopold was ranked 1st with an exit velocity of 97 mph. (74.7 mph bat speed average). (25.3 mph hand speed average). Begins in an athletic quiet stance with a tight load, then uses a controlled small leg kick. Bat speed is flashed quick, shows an upward swing plane and good extension on his finish. Solid from the outfield, he showed the ability to throw at velocities up to 80 mph; has consistent feet, a natural exchange, and sure hands. Laterally, movements were athletic and fielded the ball out front. Used a consistent arm action and a high ¾ slot. Performed well in the 60-yard dash, clocking a speedy time of 6.93. On the mound, used a loose arm action and a high ¾ arm angle while showing quick arm speed. Drop-and-drive type pitcher and shows easy effort. Threw his fastball 79-80 mph. Had slight running action. (Max spin 2106; Avg 2016). Has some action on his 11/5 curveball (66-67). (Max spin 1798; Avg 1744). He has some action on his changeup (70-71).
