1/21/19 Pitching

Body Type: 6-foot-3 195-pound prospect with a bigger, projectable frame.

Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Threw from a high ¾ arm slot with somewhat stiff movements and a long, slow rhythm to his delivery.

Fastball: 77-79 mph fastball was pretty true through the zone.

Curveball: 60-62 mph breaking ball showed loose spin and a tumbling type action.

Changeup: 71-73 mph changeup showed some fade and sink to the arm side.

Pitchability: Better feel for his changeup and fastball than the breaking ball.

Role: Presently his stuff projects more as a bullpen type. Would like to see one of his pitches become above average to be viewed more as a starter.

1/21/19

Body Type: 6-foot-3 195-pound prospect with a bigger, projectable frame.

Swing Mechanics: Tall setup. Shows a back load to hands during controlled stride forward.

Hit: Path is level with some lag. Swing is a bit raw but the natural tools are there. Physical kid with some bat speed. Was on the ground most of BP, working the middle of the field. Run producer frame and natural tools.

Power: 90 mph exit velocity. Ball comes off well.

Offensive Projection: Middle of Lineup.

Run: 6.87 60-yard dash.

Field: Plays under control in the outfield. Two-handed play through with developing ball skills. Good athlete out there.

Throw: Long, loose arm action through a high-¾ slot. Ball has some life out of the hand, showing 77 mph strength to home plate.

Defensive Projection: LF.

Scouting Report: 6-foot-3, 195-pound athletic body frame. In the outfield he has adequate footwork while approaching the baseball, transitioning into his throws. Throws from an upper ¾ slot and recorded a top velocity of 75 mph. Right-handed hitter starts from a tall stance. Has a short, fluid load with his hands moving toward his back shoulder and finishes his swing with a two-handed follow through. Swings with a level bat path through the zone, recorded a top exit velocity of 90 mph and ran a 7.01 60-yard dash. From the mound he throws with regular effort to his delivery. Lands in a straight line at foot strike with his momentum carrying in good direction toward home plate. Throws using average arm speed through a ¾ slot. Fastball has arm-side run at times and is thrown between 78-81 mph. His curveball has tighter shape to it on an 11/5 plane with signs of late break between 62-67 mph.
