Body Type: 5-foot-10, 160-pound athletic frame.
Swing Mechanics: Balanced stance with quiet hands during his short stride for timing.

Power: 85 mph exit velocity. Occasional gap abilities.
Offensive Projection: Top of Lineup.
Run: 6.92 60-yard dash.
Field: An outfielder with a CF/LF look to him. Quick feet with adequate ball skills.
Throw: 78 mph arm strength to home plate. Loose arm action that will add strength with maturity.
Defensive Projection: CF/LF with a left field lean.

Ohio State recruit. My first home to first time from Emerson was fast enough to make me question my own credibility, but when I got 4.31 on a turn on what would become an inside the park home run, I was able to confirm that Emerson is, indeed, pretty quick. He stays within himself at the plate where he does not try to do too much from the left side. At 5-foot-10, 155-pounds he is not the biggest player on the field, but he is confident in his approach which features a direct path from the left side. Emerson is an athletic player whose speed should allow him to continue to be an exciting player to watch, and his ability to spray line drives may make him a strong candidate to hit at the top of the order moving forward.

7/05/17

A left-handed hitter that starts in an athletic setup. A smooth swinger with an efficient loading sequence. Path is level with noticeable whip through contact. Creates impressive pop with little effort. A gap to gap guy that flashed pull side power. In the outfield he shows fluidity and athleticism to his actions. Ball skills are well above average for his class. Creates solid momentum into his throws during his transfer. Arm is loose with whip to it. Really talented prospect to look at for.

Home-1st: 4.36
Outfield Velocity: 79
Exit Velocity: 83

6/28/16

5-foot-9, 150-pounds with a long athletic frame. The southpaw projects well on the mound as he throws through a high ¾ slot with some looseness in arm. Will continue to add velocity as he works to incorporate lower half. Smooth repeatable delivery. Shows command with his 69-71 mph fastball working both the inner and outer half of the plate. Breaking ball offers some depth at 58-59 mph and breaks on a 1/7 plane. Ran an impressive 6.91, 60-yard dash. At the plate he starts in a wider setup and has good rhythm as he gets his weight to his back leg before transferring it into contact through a short stride. Hands stay simple and take a level path to the ball. Showed more pop to his pull side. Registered an exit velocity of 75 mph. A mechanically sound outfielder that has above average tools across the board. Using a near over the top slot he threw to home plate with 70 mph arm strength.

3/19/16

5-foot-9, 140-pound prospect. On the mound the southpaw has a quick tempo to a delivery that requires regular effort. Good direction to home plate. Displayed a three-pitch mix with his fastball sitting 62-65 mph with natural run. His best offspeed pitch was his big-breaking curveball that worked on a 1/7 plane at 56-59 mph. Also mixed in a changeup using near fastball armspeed at 61-62 mph.At the plate he uses a simple hands back load during his stride forward. Gets the bat in and out of the zone quickly with a short, compact swing. Registered a top exit velocity of mph. Mechanically sound in the outfield, showing the ability to play through the baseball and get efficient use out of his crow hop. Threw accurately with 68 mph arm strength to home plate. Ran a very impressive 7.26 60-yard dash.
