12/02/18

One of the top defenders behind the dish left on the board in the ‘19 class. Big time arm strength back there with the ability to receive at an above average clip as well. Very talented defender. Hit tool is a bit behind defensive abilities but he has all the natural tools to hit as he cleans up movements. Both strength and bat speed grade out as above average tools.
60-yard Dash: 7.5
Pop Times: 1.93-1.96
Catcher Velocity: 78
Exit Velocity: 86

6/06/17

Behind the plate he has advanced catch and throw skills for his age. Hips are flexible and he looks athletic behind the plate. A right-handed hitter that starts in a balanced setup. Uses a leg kick load while keeping barrel fluid. Bat has some quickness to it but best tool at the plate is his strength. Works on a downhill path with a center to pull approach. Showed gap to gap pop in batting practice.

1/28/17

A righty swinger that has a series of fluid movements to his loading sequence. Hands stay loose and barrel launches from a vertical setup creating excellent whip and barrel direction. Showed impressive pop to his pull side. Has the tools to produce at the next level. Gap to gap pop at this stage. Defensively, he is one of, if not, the best catchers in Ohio’s class of 2019. Sets up in an athletic, balanced stance. Utilizes quick footwork and maintains direction to second base. Transfer is quick and aggressive. Throws come out of a ¾ to high ¾ slot with serious intent. Division I follow.

Exit Velocity: 85

10/15/16

An exciting catching prospect with a 5-foot-9, 160-pound frame. One of the most talented defensive catchers in the state we have come across so far in the 2019 class. Advanced beyond his years in every aspect behind the plate. Blocks well, receiving skills are impressive, and has elite catch and throw abilities. Has a cannon of an arm as he topped out at 81 mph to second base, while recording pop times of 1.84-1.91 in the workout. At the plate he starts in an athletic setup and is mechanically simple. A strong kid with more bat speed than is 81 mph exit velocity would indicate. Tends to his off his back leg which limits his natural ability. Creating more energy/weight shift into contact with his lower half would bring out the untapped pop that’s in there.

9/29/19
Swing Mechanics: Easy, athletic movements in the box.
Hit: Compact stroke/stays within himself. Always inside the baseball with the ability to square it up frequently. Not a loud BP but very efficient, spraying it around the yard.
Power: Line drive guy that will flash gap abilities.
Offensive Projection: Table Setter.
Run: 7.61
Field: Athletic, fluid actions with impressive catch/throw abilities. Popped as low as 1.85. Talented defender back there.
Throw: Arm strength is real. Ball zips out of hand and carries through target.
Defensive Projection: C.
