Power / Speed Score
A simple calculation that divides the athlete’s Exit Velocity Max by the athlete’s 60 Yard Dash time for the given event year. For example, 98 MPH / 7.00s = 14.00.
Chase Haver: 1B/RHP, (2022) Newcomerstown, OH. 6-foot-2, 218-pound. Solid at the plate, Haver's best exit velocity was 91 mph. (64.72 mph bat speed average). (22.65 mph hand speed average). Starts in a balanced crouched stance with a quick controlled load, then uses a short stride. Had a level swing plane, above average bat speed and level finish. Barreled up multiple balls with some loud contact. Gap to gap approach. Solid in the infield, displayed a velocity of 69 mph; showed a natural fluid exchange, firm hands, and average feet. In the 60-yard dash, he clocked a time of 8.22. On the mound, showed some arm speed, he had a high ¾ arm angle with a loose arm action. Drop-and-drive type pitcher and shows some effort. Sat with his fastball at 71-73 mph. Has cutting action. (Max spin 1897; Avg 1656). His 11/5 curveball (61-63) had sweeping action. (Max spin 1813; Avg 1720). His changeup has fading action.
1/24/21
30-yard dash: 4.48 Hit: Right-handed hitter that starts in an upright setup. Goes with a back load to hands during controlled stride for timing. Physical dude with above average bat and hand speed. Also showed above average rotational acceleration. ball jumped when squared/worked to the middle of the field for the most part. Power: Gap pop. Offensive Projection: Middle. Field: Frame/skill set plays over at frist base. Looks to have a feel for the spot with solid ball skills. Throw: More than enough strength for the position. Defensive Projection: 1B.
Delivery Notes: Physical presence on the mound. Drop/drive actions down the hill with lower half. Arm is loose/works well through a high-3/4 slot. Type of arm that should add velocity with physical maturation. Fastball: Heavy sink to the offering. 20+inches of induced vertical break at times. More velo in the tank. Breaking Ball: 11/5 shape, gradual action to it. Looked to have feel for it. Also tossed a slider that thad a bit more depth with similar plane. Changeup: Developing feel. Maintains arm speed, generating good sell. Pitchability: In/out.
