Body type:  5-foot-8, 150-pound thin frame.

Swing mechanics:  Loads into back leg with a small leg kick.  Hands have minimal load.

Hit:  Pull side with a slight uphill bat path.  Produces above average bat speed.

Power:  Line drive guy will have more pop as he develops more size.

Offensive Projection:  To be determined.

Field:  Smooth transfer with quick feet behind the dish. In the outfield he plays under control in his approach with smoother actions. One-handed play through with ball skills on par for class. 

Throw:  Loose arm action. High-3/4 right-hander with present accuracy and developing strength.

Defensive Projection:  UTL.

Additional Notes:  Receives the baseball well with developing blocking skills.

2/10/19 Pitching

Body Type: 5-foot-8, 150-pounds. Smaller, thin frame. Still young with time mature and physically develop.

Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Uses short arm action through ¾ to high ¾ slot. Slight inward turn and leg kick. Tendency to land close on foot strike. Throws across body.

Fastball: Mostly straight. Did not show much movement. Mostly sat 72-73 mph, spiking up to 74 and 75 on a couple of occasions.

Curveball: Showed depth to the pitch with two plane action. Mostly sat at 59-61 mph.

Changeup: Straight like the fastball at 66-67 mph.

Summary: Likely projects best as a position player at the next level. Current two-pitch combo should allow him throw innings at the high school level, but current skill set needs more physical development and mechanical adjustments in order to transfer over to the college level.

Body Type: 5-foot-8, 150 pounds. Athletic build.
Swing Mechanics: Has a balanced stance with a shorter load prior to attacking pitches. Produces a level path and keeps weight on back side more often in swing.

Hit: Saw average bat production out of him with putting balls in all three fields. Singles hitter right now with ability to poke in gaps an run out for doubles.

Power: 77 mph exit velocity.

Offensive Projection: TBD in the coming years.

Run:  7.3 60-yard.
Field: Fields it well with his glove in the outfield staying low and getting through the baseball while attacking it. Follows throws well leading to accuracy.

Throw: 77 mph from the outfield. Stronger arm for his class.

A right-handed hitter that starts in a balanced stance. Uses a leg kick for timing while showing a slight back load to hands. Hands take a downhill path to contact inside a compact stroke. Swing offers a bit more present speed than strength. Line drive swinger that flashed gap abilities. In the outfield he plays with shorter footwork too and plays two-handed through the baseball. Would like to see him field the ball one-handed on his glove side to maintain momentum through fielding and into throws. Through with accuracy to home plate. On the mound Speert showed of a compact, athletic build. In his delivery he counter rotates early, and then shows good athleticism through the delivery. His delivery is deceptive and he hides the ball well. His fastball sat 73-76 mph and stayed on plane, while appearing to have carry through the zone. His breaking ball sat 64-65 mph and was slurvey in shape with good spin. His changeup showed as by far his best pitch. It sat 69-71 mph with heavy sink and lots of late depth.
