Comments

2/12/19

Body Type: 6-foot-1, 190-pound taller, physical frame.
Swing Mechanics: Left-handed hitter that starts in a balanced stance. Easy, athletic load.
Hit: Physical lefty with some bat speed. Controls body well, allowing for a mostly balanced launch. Ball jumps and he can use the whole field. Very solid round.
Power: 85 mph exit velocity. Gap abilities with emerging power.
Offensive Projection: Middle of Lineup.
Run: 4.53 H-1st.
Field: Corner frame with fluid feet and the ability to create angles. Ball skills are above average for class. Times feet well. Worked out at both spots with a higher ceiling at first base where he showed an above average skill se across the board.
Throw: Loose, clean arm with already above average strength and projects for more.
Defensive Projection: Corner INF.

2/12/19

Body Type: 6-foot-1, 190-pound taller, physical frame.
Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Releases out of a ¾ arm slot showing clean arm action. Delivery motion shows fluidity utilizing his entire body well.
Fastball: Sat 77-79 mph early in his outing then got up to 80-81 mph as he finished. Ball produces some glove-side run and kept this pitch down.
Curveball: Sharper bite to it and comes out of hand well at 66-68 mph. Shows 11-6 breaking action and located it.
Changeup: Threw it more effectively out of the stretch with some run and downard sink at 69-73 mph.
Pitchability: Threw strikes. Showed better command of his fastball and curveball as his changeup is improving grip and release point. Looked to be efficient on the mound. Potential starter.
Additional Comments: Has a projectable build that shows potential in his future. Two years left to progress and there is more to come.

5/31/17

On the mound the right-hander has an uptempo delivery that requires regular effort. Arm has some quickness/looseness to it while working through a high-¾ slot.  A drop and drive type guy the creates solid momentum to home plate with his lower half. Fastball was mostly straight through the zone at 71-75 mph. His go to secondary offering is his 11/5 shaped breaking ball at 67-69 mph. The pitch showed sharpness when he stayed on top of it. Works well from the stretch and is very quick to the plate. Times to the plate were 1.15-1.22. Two-way prospect. Physical lefty stick with a hands back load during controlled stride for timing. Balanced launch with a level path that has natural loft. Middle of the lineup potential. A first baseman with feel for the position. Moves around the bag well with more lateral mobility than frame would suggest.

1/22/17

6-foot, 195-pound prospect with solid frame and strong lower half. Throws from high ¾ arm slot with short arm action. Smooth, repeatable delivery. Commanded fastball for strikes at 74-75 mph. His best pitch may be a 65-66 mph breaking ball with sharp 11/5 action down in teh zone. Also throws a changeup near armspeed at 67 mph.
Hits from the left side. Ball jumps off his bat has he shows obvious power. On this occasion, he showed backside tendencies in his swing (right-handed thrower, left-handed hitter), but those backside tendencies came with obvious doubles type power. Has some thickness to his frame that should lean out as his body matures over time. Interesting follow as he also showed potential on the mound. At first base, displayed very good footwork coming off the bag and setting his feet for throws across the diamond. Showed a quick glove and transfer. Uses a short arm action and gets rid of the ball quickly registering a top velocity of 69 mph.

3/19/16

5-foot-11, 180-pound prospect. Slow tempo to his delivery. Throws from high ¾ slot with short arm action. Regular effort to his delivery. Fastball was located in the zone with occasional run at 71-73 mph. Breaking ball showed slurvey type action across the zone at 61-63 mph. Needs to demonstrate consistent command of the pitch. Changeup is still developing. Tendency to slow down arm speed with the pitch.
