Chris Protos: RHP/1B, (2024) Westlake, OH. 6-foot-3, 210-pound. Solid on the mound, used a high ¾ arm angle with a loose arm action while showing quick arm speed. Drop-and-drive type pitcher who uses some effort. Displays even shoulders and a consistent balance point. Has slight running action. (Max spin 2417; Avg 2305). Shows a 11/5 curveball with gradual action. (Max spin 2651; Avg 2495). Threw a 10/4 slider with late tight action. (Max spin 2807; Avg 2681).
Chris Protos: 1B/RHP, (2024) Westlake, OH. 6-foot-3, 205-pound projectable sturdy build. (73.8 mph bat speed average). (22.6 mph hand speed average). Started in a balanced athletic stance with a quick controlled load, then used a big leg kick. Bat speed was quick explosive, displayed a short uphill swing plane and balanced finish. Had loud contact and found lots of barrels. Aggressive gap to gap approach. Capable from the outfield, he showed the ability to throw at velocities up to 86 mph; has smooth in control feet, consistent next level hands, and a clean fluid exchange. Fields the ball to the side, movements laterally were athletic. Consistent accuracy to the bag, used a longer arm action and uninterrupted slot. During the event, recorded a 60 time of 7.59. Projectable advanced on the mound, showing quick consistent arm speed he had a high ¾ arm angle with a loose clean arm action. Drop-and-drive type pitcher and uses some effort. Tall balance point with even in line shoulders. Lands square with recoil finish. (Max spin 2327; Avg 2196).
RHP/1B, (2024) Westlake, OH. 6-foot-3, 210-pound. In the box, Protos had a max exit velocity of 97 mph. (74.9 mph bat speed average). (21.8 mph hand speed average). Began in a balanced athletic stance with a controlled load, then used a quick stride. Bat speed was quick, had a simple upward swing plane and good extension on his finish. Solid in the infield, recorded a position velocity of 83 mph; has sure hands, consistent feet, and a natural exchange. Laterally, movements were athletic and fielded the ball out front. Had a high ¾ slot with a quick arm action. In the 60-yard dash, he clocked a time of 7.71. On the mound, showed consistent arm speed with a high ¾ arm angle and a clean arm action. Drop-and-drive type pitcher who uses easy effort. Produced a fastball that came in at 80-83 mph. Had slight running action. (Max spin 2228; Avg 2089). He shows slight fading action on his changeup (73-75). Has late action on his 10/4 slider (67-69). (Max spin 2351; Avg 2235).

Had a high ¾ slot with a quick arm action. On the mound, showed a loose arm action and a high ¾ arm angle with quick arm speed. Drop-and-drive type pitcher who shows some effort. Produced a fastball that came in at 84-85 mph. Showed slight running action. (Max spin 2481; Avg 2400). He shows slight fading action on his changeup (74-77). Shows late tight action on his 10/4 slider (71-74). (Max spin 2671; Avg 2582).

Showed arm side control and fading action on his changeup (73-76).
Chris Protos: RHP/1B, (2024) Westlake, OH. 6-foot, 185-pound. Athletic during batting practice, Protos had a max exit velocity of 93 mph. Started in a balanced tall stance with a smooth controlled load, then used a big leg kick. Bat speed was above average, showed an upward rotational swing plane and high finish. In his round he found multiple barrels with loud contact. Gap to gap approach. Solid in the infield, his position velocity was registered at 76 mph; has choppy average feet, a natural exchange, and consistent hands. Clocked a 60 time of 8.64 at the event. Above average on the mound, showed a quick arm action and a ¾ arm angle with above average arm speed Drop-and-drive type pitcher who uses easy effort. Has a consistent balance point. Curveball (68-68 mph), changeup (72-74 mph).Produced a fastball that came in at 78-82 mph.
Chris Protos: 1B/RHP, (2024) Westlake, OH. 6-foot, 185-pound projectable frame. During batting practice, Protos recorded an exit velocity of 92 mph. Starts in a tall stance with a controlled compact load, then uses a leg kick. Bat speed was above average, and used a short level swing plane.

Hit: Physical bat form the right side. Natural tools are well above average for class. Intent driven stroke that works inside the baseball. Middle-back approach in BP.
Power: Gap abilities.

Field: Good athlete over at first base who gets off the bag with above average lateral mobility. Ball skills are developing.

Scouting Notes: Definite follow in 2024 class. Easy velocity through a 3/4 slot. Fastball will add east velo and he can also spin a tight breaking ball.

2/15/20 Pitching
Delivery Notes: On the mound he gets downhill fairly well and throws from a low ¾ arm slot. He could more effectively hold tension with his upper body to add some velocity to his fastball.
Fastball: The fastball was 71-75 mph with good life through the zone.

Curveball: His breaking ball was 54-57 mph with good depth.

Hit: At the plate Protos uses a toe tap load and creates good natural bat speed through the zone. He shows an on plane bat path and drives his barrel through the zone somewhat effectively.
