Scouting Notes:Physical presence on the mound. Smooth mover with a fast arm. Looks like a potential higher velo guy in the 2023 class. Very high spin rate guy as high as 2500rpms on the heater. Slider has gradual side to side action coming out of a slightly lower slot.

Hit: Physical presence in the box from the right side. Smooth, early mover that gets to a balanced launch. Flat path. Like the combination of feel to find the barrel and strength through contact. Low line drive ball flight seemed to come off the bat the loudest. Should grow into more distance as he adds loft to stroke.
Power: Top rapsodo exit velocity was 83 mph in BP, while top rapsodo distance registered at 201 feet.
Offensive Projection: Middle potential.
Field: Popped between 1.97-2.13. Solid abilities back there/looks to have feel for the spot.
Throw: After his bullpen it shouldn’t be a surprise that his arm plays as a big tool back there. Jumps out of the hand with a top velocity of 77 mph.
Defensive Projection: C.
2/16/20 Pitching
Delivery Notes: Young arm to follow. High-¾ righty with a drop and drive type loading sequence down the hill. Above average strength for class.
Fastball: Touched 80 mph, higher velo ceiling for class, mostly true through the zone.
Curveball: 70-71 mph, 11/5 shape, sharp down action at times. Also tossed a slider with a more slurvish shape but same quality sharpness breaker offers.
Changeup: 71-72 mph, solid sell, fastball arm speed, late sink.
2/9/20 Pitching
Delivery Notes: Good mover with decent polish for class. Arm works with an above average combination of strength and speed to it. More to come.
Fastball: The fastball was 76-79 mph. Relatively true through the zone.
Curveball: His breaking ball was 70-71 mph. 11/5 shape with both depth and sharp action.
Changeup: The changeup was 71-72 mph. Appears to be playable.
Pitchability: Looks to be a strike thrower.

Hit: At the plate Pierce uses a balanced setup and shows a flat bat path to the ball. Nice combination of physicality and speed to hands.
Power: 76 mph exit velocity. Gap abilities.
Offensive Projection: TBD
Field: Behind the plate Pierce showed good footwork and a quick arm. Limited viewing of receiving abilities but looked more than servicable.
Throw: 75 mph from behind the plate.
Defensive Projection: C.
