Drake Blasco: SS/2B, (2023) Brunswick, OH. 6-foot-1, 188-pound. At the plate, the right-handed hitter was ranked 1st with an exit velocity of 96 mph. (71.6 mph bat speed average). (20.2 mph hand speed average). Begins in a balanced tall stance with a quick load, then uses a small leg kick. Has a simple uphill swing plane, quick bat speed and good extension on his finish. Solid in the infield, his position velocity was registered at 82 mph; has soft hands, consistent feet, and a natural exchange. Movements laterally were athletic and he fields the ball out front. Had a high ¾ slot and a quick arm action. Clocked a 60 time of 7.6 at the event.  

Drake Blasco: SS/3B, (2023) Brunswick, OH. 6-foot-1, 188-pound. Solid in the box, the right-handed hitter recorded an exit velocity of 90 mph. Begins in a tall open stance with a smooth controlled load, then uses a short stride. He found some barrels in his round. Athletic while in the infield, made throws up to 78 mph; showed soft hands, a natural fluid exchange, and athletic feet. Out front fielding mechanics. During the event, ran the 60-yard dash in 7.68. 

Drake Blasco: 2B/RHP, (2023) Brunswick, OH. 6-foot-1, 183-pound athletic frame. During batting practice, the right-handed hitter had an exit velocity of 94 mph. Begins in an open tall stance with a smooth load, then uses a controlled stride. Bat speed was quick, displayed an upward simple swing plane and high finish. Smooth in the infield, displayed a velocity of 81 mph; has soft hands, rhythmic feet, and a clean exchange. Fielded the ball out front with well above average ball skills. Athletic defender who is able to make plays on the move. 

Hit: Right-handed hitter that starts in an open setup. Goes with a leg kick timing trigger during back load to hands. Level, efficient path.
Power: Quick hands with developing strength. Line drive
Offensive Projection: Top of lineup.
Max BP Exit Velocity: 84mph.
Max BP Distance: 210ft.
Field: Feet work well, creating efficient angles. Ball skills are ahead of curve for class. Solid showing..
Throw: Clean arm that will support added velo.
Defensive Projection: MIF.

Scouting Notes: Clean, athletic delivery that he can repeat. Ball comes out with little effort. Should see easy velo increases as physical maturation takes its course.

Hit:Right-handed hitter that starts in a tall, open setup. Squares back even through a controlled stride. Level path with quick hands and developing strength. All field abilities with most natural ball flight to the middle.
Power:Contact type bat with much more to come.
Offensive Projection: Table setter.

Max BP Distance:288 ft
Field:In the infield he showed above average range with the ability to make plays to both sides. Ball skills appear to be on par for class.
Throw:Accurate thrower with developing strength.

Pitching
Scouting Notes: Top outing we’ve seen from the young right-hander thus far. Delivery had cleaned up while also adding burst which translated to a nice velocity jump. Showed the ability to locate all three pitches in the zone. Fastball should continue to add velocity which will also sharpen up the already above average breaking ball. Changeup is in developing stages but showed potential.
Fastball: 74-76mph.
Fastball Spin Rate: 1723-1910.
Curveball: 66-67mph.
Curveball Spin Rate: 1580-1690.
Changeup: 59-60mph.

2/2/20 Position Player
Hit:Righty bat that starts in a n upright setup. Fluid mover prior to launch. Physical bat for class. Swing is slightly downhill, staying inside the baseball nicely. Ball jumped when squared. One of the better rounds we've seen him take.
Power: Line drive pop with more in the tank as he adds loft to swing.
Offensive Projection: TBD. Young but with tools.
Field: Moves well in the infield. Rangy defender with well timed feet and soft hands.
Throw: Loose arm that should easily support added mphs with maturity.
Defensive Projection:3B/2B.

2/2/20 Pitching
Delivery Notes: Projectable build that shows slow smooth delivery with a ¾ arm slot.
Fastball: Above average spin for age sitting 71-74mph.
Fastball Spin Rate: 1669-1875
Curveball: Long curveball that shows some depth to it falling right into the zone at 60-62mph.
Curveball Spin Rate: 1527-1628
Changeup: 63-65mph change-up that lacks some confidence but shows some run

Swing Mechanics: Simple, repeatable loading sequence.

Hit: Slightly downhill stroker with some barrel lag. Physical for class. When he connects it comes off well. Worked the big part of the field in BP.

Power: Gap abilities.

Offensive Projection: Middle profile.

Field: Rangy defender that takes direct routes to the baseball. Not a flashy defender but ball skills appear to be on par for class.

Throw: Above average strength for class and more to come.

Defensive Projection: 3B.

Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Projectable arm to follow. Long lever type with a smooth delivery. Should see easy velo gains.

Fastball: 1600-1900 spin rate guy with mid 90s efficiency. 69-71 mph.

Curveball: 11/5 big shaped offering. Tosses it in the zone consistently. 61-63 mph.

Changeup:

Pitchability: Strike thrower for the most part.

Body Type: 5-foot-10, 130-pounds with tall, lengthy build

Hit: The RHH starts with a hand to shoulders load and a small leg stride in his swing. Has good weight transitions throughout his swing. Hands stay inside and can square up the baseball. Swings with intent

Power: Consistent line drive swing with pop

Offensive Projections: Middle (79 exit velocity)

Run: 7.90 (60-yard dash)

Field: From the IF, he has a loose arm and average arm strength. His feet are quiet with and moves around the base with ease. Good fielding mechanics
