Dylan Dotson: SS/RHP, (2022) buckeye, OH. 5-foot-8, 150-pound athletic frame. During batting practice, the left-handed hitter clocked an exit velocity of 91 mph. Begins in an open stance with a compact load, then uses a controlled stride. Bat speed is quick, uses an upward swing plane and high finish. Solid while in the infield, made throws at velocities up to 76 mph; has a natural exchange, consistent feet, and sure hands. Had a high ¾ slot with a quick arm action. Clocked a time of 7.22 in the 60-yard dash. Solid on the mound, used a consistent arm action with a high ¾ arm angle while showing quick arm speed. Drop-and-drive type pitcher who uses some effort. Curveball (67-68 mph), changeup (74-75 mph).Produced a fastball that came in at 83-85 mph.
Hit:Left-handed hitter that starts in a balanced stance. Uses a leg kick/bat tip for loading sequence. Movements come together well prior to launch. Balanced stroke that generates natural whip/middle of the field ball flight.
Power:Flashed gap abilities.
Offensive Projection: Run producer potential

Max BP Distance:270 ft
Field:In the infield he plays with a controlled tempo throughout. Not flashy but appears to have dependable hands. Actions are more athletic outside of funnel.
Throw:Clean/accurate arm.
Defensive Projection:TBD.
Scouting Notes:Two-way prospect. On the mound he works with an uptempo pace to a delivery that requires some effort. Respectable present velocity with signs of more to come. Was able to move the heater around the zone. Complements the fastball with a breaking ball and change. Change was shown sparingly but looked serviceable while the breaking ball showed big action on an 11/5 plane.
Fastball:78-80 mph. Sink/ride through the zone.

Curveball:64-65 mph. Big shape with pop out of the hand.

Changeup: 71-72 mph. Playable offering.
2/15/20 Position Player
Hit: Swings it from the left side. Balanced stroke with burst and feel. All fields approach in bP. Solid round. Type of guy who should only get better as he matures physically.
Power: Respectable jump off the barrel. Exit velocity was 80 off the tee with louder pop off a live arm in BP.
Offensive Projection: Multiple Roles.
Field: Clean, smoother actions in the infield. Ball skills appear to be ahead of the curve for class.
Throw: 83 mph strength across the diamond. Arm has a chance to be a well above average tool.
Defensive Projection: Left side of infield.
2/15/20 Pitching
Delivery Notes: Moves well on the mound. Creates energy with lower half and arm works. I’d expect him to continue to add velocity.
Fastball: 80-82 mph. Live pitch. Late action to both sides of the plate.
Curveball: 67-68 mph. Quality action. Hard bite, especially when down in the zone.
Changeup: 71-75 mph. Maintains arm speed on the offering, giving it a decent sell. Movement wise it’s a quality offering also.
