Notes

Comments

1/26/19 Pitching
Body Type: 5-foot-11 156-pound prospect with room to add strength.
Mechanical/Delivery Notes:
Long loose arm action working out of a ¾ slot. Delivery requires some effort, creates a little deception with slight shoulder tilt while throwing across the body.
Fastball:
78-79 mph heavy fastball with above average run to the arm side.
Curveball:
70-72 mph breaking ball that has more of a slurvy 11/5 action. Pitch has consistent shape and was thrown for strikes.
Changeup:
73-75 mph changeup with late fading action. Thrown with fastball arm speed, needs to take little more of the pitch as it plays more like a BP fastball at this point.
Pitchability:
Shows ability to throw all three of his pitches for strikes. Fastball is best overall pitch at this point. The breaking ball is playable and will become a nice weapon as it tightens up. Changeup is still in the developmental stages.
Role:
Too early to tell. At this point it’s all going to depend on his overall development moving forward. His ability to fill up the zone could have him leaning towards starter, but if the changeup doesn’t improve he could wind up as a strike thrower out of someone’s pen.
1/27/18
5-foot-10, 154-pound left-handed hitter had a longer swing that gets on plane with good timing at contact. Sabatelli has a wide-based stance that sometimes get too extended after he strides as it looked to affect some of his swings. He showed average power with an 80 exit velocity and that is expected to progress as he gets stronger. Defensively, he shows confidence around the bag at first base. Uses short arm action and gets rid of the ball when turning double plays. Top velocity of 75 mph on his throws across the infield.
