Haydon Simonds: SS/2B, (2025) Edgewood, OH. 5-foot-7, 140-pound. (63.8 mph bat speed average). (18.7 mph hand speed average). Begins in a balanced quiet stance with a controlled load, then uses a small leg kick. Bat speed is efficient, uses a simple flat swing plane and high finish. Solid in the infield, his position velocity was registered at 74 mph; had a natural exchange, sure hands, and consistent footwork. Movements laterally were athletic and he fields the ball out front. Had a consistent arm action and a high ¾ slot.
Haydon Simonds: SS, (2025) Edgewood, OH. 5-foot-6, 120-pound. At the plate, Simonds had a max exit velocity of 77 mph. (58.7 mph bat speed average). (16.9 mph hand speed average). Began in a balanced athletic stance with a smooth controlled load, then used a big leg kick. Had an upward short swing plane, developing efficient bat speed and high good extension on his finish. In the infield, his best throw was registered at 81 mph; has athletic developing feet, firm consistent hands, and a quick twitchy exchange. Fields the ball out front.
Hit: Left-handed hit tool in the 2025 class. Uses a double tap timing trigger during back load to hands. Very efficient mover who can accelerate well. Distributed the ball around the yard with consistent line drive flight. Solid young bat to follow.
