Hunter Brooks: C/OF, (2023) Greenview, OH. 5-foot-11, 145-pound lean frame. Solid at the plate, the switch hitter's best exit velocity was 85 mph. Started in an athletic open stance with a controlled smooth load, then used a small leg kick. Bat speed was efficient, and displayed a level swing plane. He found some barrels through his round. Solid from the outfield, he showed the ability to throw at velocities up to 82 mph; shows a natural exchange, consistent hands, and average feet. Behind the plate, his best recorded velocity during throw downs was clocked at 76 mph; has athletic feet, soft hands, and a natural exchange. Produced pop times of 2.05-2.16. Had quiet setup. Capable on the mound, showed a ¾ angle. Feel type pitcher and uses some effort. Athletic balance point. Has a clean finish. Curveball (63-66 mph), changeup (65-68 mph).Produced a fastball that came in at 74-77 mph.
Hit:Switch hitter. From the left he has a very fluid, athletic stroke he can repeat. Level path with developing tools. Showed ball flight to both gaps. Expect much more from the left as he adds physicality. Much more explosive from the right side. Intent is also more present. Shows enough feel to continue to do both but the right side was impressive.
Power:Line drive pop from both.
Offensive Projection:Top of lineup.
Field:Solid showing for the young, 2023 backstop. Tools across the board are ahead of the curve for class. There's athleticism there with developing receiving abilities and impressed with catch/throw.
